Notes from Underground – Most read articles for the week ending 31 August

By Darren Atwater | Sunday 1 September 2024

Here are the most read articles and the most listened-to Bearcasts over the past seven days. The most read non-Tom article last week is Ariana – More Exploration Results From Salinbas: BUY by Nigel Somerville at number 8 or number 18 including Bearcasts.

The most-read ShareProphets articles this week were:

  1. Photo Article: This reminds me of an old joke about fund managers
What's the difference between a fund manager and a shopping trolley. Both get filled up regularly with vast amounts of food and booze but while one has a mind of its own the other manages other people's money. Anyhow this trolley was filled up by myself yesterday evening.

  2. PM Sir Keir Starmer lies about stopping 80,000 smokers dying as his economic suicide march accelerates
As you can see in the video below, our beloved PM is planning to ban smoking outside hospitals, nightclubs and in pub gardens. He claims this will save 80,000 lives a year. That is a total lie and this puritan folly will only add to the nation’s financial woes.

  3. Disgraced Rod McIllree of Bluejay infamy who are you calling a “tabloid gossip newsletter?”
Well of course Rod is referring to ShareProphets, a website commended by the FRC, Panorama, Private Eye and othrs for its sterling work. In an email, which I have now seen, he accuses Romain Picard, who is leading the campaign to sue Bluejay Mining (JAY), of leaking THIS EXPLOSIVE letter to me. Wrong! I will not disclose my source of that letter but it was not Mr Picard. And now for the really bad news for Rod and Bluejay….

  4. A small cap to gain 50%+ by Christmas considers HotStockRockets as the gold price moves up to $2,500+...
The gold price per ounce is now up to above $2,450 (now $2,500), yet most gold stocks remain unloved. Here that looks to also reflect small/mid cap stocks generally also remaining unloved but there is now increasing commentary of that general value opportunity and we consider there is extra opportunity with such gold stocks as the gold price trend suggests the $2,500 psychological barrier being topped bringing subsequent potential to drive real sector excitement. In such a sector environment, we consider the following to gain 50% or more from by Christmas.

  5. Evil Banksta: Mr Market has got what is a warning from Belluscura wrong
Today, Adam Reynolds and Belluscura (BELL) have served up a statement which is actually yet another warning. Mr Market has been fooled and the shares are sharply higher. Evil Banksta reckons that Adam is offering bears such as himself yet another opportunity to pay for luxury holidays, London fine dining and ballet tickets. Liverpool’s greatest numbers man since Ken Dodd opines:

  6. Jubilee Metals – Q4 “Operational Update”, production scale ramping up BUY
Jubilee Metals (JLP) has issued an “Operational Update Q4 FY2024” announcement, including noting production progress and that it “is well-prepared to deliver a robust FY2025 performance, with anticipated production increases”. We suggest such provides strong upside from a current 5.665p share price, £170.3 million market cap.

  7. Ariana Resources – project interests and production updates, BUY
Ariana Resources (AAU) states that it “is pleased to announce” completion of a merger of businesses in which it holds project interests in Turkey as well as that its gold and silver production from Turkey “continues as planned”. The shares are down to a 2.2p share price, £40.4 million market capon the news so not everyone is so pleased.

  8. Ariana – More Exploration Results From Salinbas: BUY
News yesterday of further exploration results from the Salinbas project in Eastern Turkey brought little joy for shareholders in AIM-listed Ariana Resources (AAU): the shares dropped to just 2.025p, a market capitalisation of £37 million. But I think Mr Market is wrong.

  9. EXPLOSIVE: Letter to BlueJay Mining regarding the stinking White Flame acquisition
So hated is Rod McIllree that folks, including some very close to his paid advisors, are lining up to use the Winnileaks service and hand documents to what the disgraced penny share promoter terms "a tabloid gossip newsletter," that is to say ShareProphets. Third up today we have a letter to BlueJay (JAY) which shows that it is ignoring all prior correspondence, not a good look if this goes to Court, and concerns the stinking related party White Flame deal which I too called out as a huge red flag HERE. Enjoy.

  10. The Lord Mayor of London invites Tom Winnifrith to a black tie dinner, I cannot accept
Given some of the less than flattering articles I have published on Michael Mainelli this invitation to a private Black Tie dinner is somewhat surprising. I am not sure the Lord Mayor really wants to hear my views at a City bash discussing mining as I might have a few bad words to say about some folk. Anyhow...

The most listened-to Bearcasts this week were:

  1. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: the phone was hot about BlueJay today
I start with Sharestock preparations then its BlueJay (JAY) day. I discuss what should happen and what will happen.

  2. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Do I have cancer?
Following a discussion with my GP I must face up to that possibility. Or I may not. For the next 48 hours I am in limbo as we await the results of more tests and its hard to write any great articles as i ponder it all. I discuss this but also BlueJay Mining (JAY), Argo Blockchain (ARB), Eurasia (EUA) and woodshed work

  3. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Judging the performance of me or 'arry, Optibiotix and Kefi
It's just 13 days to go, we can still squeeze in a few more at Sharestock HERE.I discuss what is the real performance of myself and Harry Adams and Optibiotix (OPTI) and Kefi Gold & Copper (KEFI)

  4. Tom Winnifrith Bonus Bearcast: a few thoughts about Probiotix and its results today
It is what it says on the tin. I own shed loads of Probiotix (PBX) shares. They will not make me rich overnight but they could if I show patience

  5. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: sorry BBMs but it seems the prayers worked
Some BBMs may be disappointed but the cancer test came back all clear. My symptoms are very much still present, I discuss and thank so many of you for your prayers and messages. Then a few words on Argent Pharma (RGT), Victoria (VCP) and Nanoco (NANO)

  6. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: I disagree with Gary on Helium One. Well a bit.
I start on the latest run around from the NHS. Envy of the ffing world. Not. then Hydrogen Utopia (HUI) which stinks, another sad lesson from the Tintra (TNT) fraud and then Helium One (HE1)

  7. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: 22 litres of apple juice made as I thank you all
I say what Joshua, my pal C and I did yesterday as I thank you for all your best wishes over the cancer or, I hope, not. I also discuss Distil (DIS), Georgina Energy (GEX) and the hydrogen and helium bubbles.

  8. Tom Winnifrith Bonus Bearcast: More red flags vicar, crazy financing arrangements at Hydrogen Utopia
Hydrogen Utopia (HUI) has always been a stonking sell but today's news in financing is bonkers and a massive red flag that screams out SELL!

  9. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: can you guess what it is tomorrow other than 1 September?I answer that question and then discuss red flags at NightCap (NGHT) and how to succeed or fail in buy and build and a new cunning plan at ECR Minerals (ECR)
