Notes from Underground – Most read articles for the week ending March 29

By Darren Atwater | Sunday 30 March 2025

As usual, the most read non-Tom article, at number 1 or number 1 including Bearcasts is by Nigel Somerville, The View From The Montana Log-Cabin As Gold Reaches Another Record High, Holds $3,000. The most read non-Tom, non-Nigel article is Virgin Wines UK – interims emphasise new “Growth Strategy and Capital Allocation Plan”, but I thought it was already meant to be “A real corker”?… by Steve Moore.

The most-read ShareProphets articles this week were:

  1. The View From The Montana Log-Cabin As Gold Reaches Another Record High, Holds $3,000
Gold closed the week at $3,023 – a record weekly high - having put in another all-time high at $3,047 and up on last week’s $2,985. The miners had an even better week, if a little spoilt by a small late-week wobble, as can be seen on the chart (courtesy of ADVFN) of Gold against the mining ETFs GDX (majors), GDXJ (juniors) and GOEX (explorers).

  2. Looking for a new job: Dominic Frisby has a new song for you
If you are seeking a new job my pal Frisby has a video just for you. Enjoy...

  3. Reporting Predator to the FCA asking for a share suspension and full enquiry
Predator Oil & Gas (PRD) is on the Main Market which is regulated, no sniggering at the back, by the FCA. In light of the grave allegations made by ex MD Lonny Baumgardener today which imply serial lying via RNS and possible misstatement of the balance sheet I have dropped the FCA a note as you can see below.

  4. Wellnex Life – a cash guzzling perma loss maker you should avoid as it joins the AIM sewer
On 21 March 2025 Wellnex (WNX) announced its admission to trading on AIM having raised £5.22 million at 31.75p capitalising this already ASX listed company at £21 million. The day before it paid brown envelope man Zak Mir to do a fawning interview masquerading as journalism, a sure sign that you should avoid the shares, now 26.5p, like the plague.

  5. EXPOSE: RegTech Open Project – is a pre pack administration on the cards, meet the Colombian bird living in France
I suspect that crooked Alessandro Zamboni may be trying to undertake a Phoenix rescue of insolvent RegTech Open Project (RTOP) so that he can present it as an entity that his new vehicle Nuburu Inc (US:BURU) can buy stripped buy off its current liabilities. Here’s why.

  6. Virgin Wines UK – interims emphasise new “Growth Strategy and Capital Allocation Plan”, but I thought it was already meant to be “A real corker”?…
Shares in online wine retailer Virgin Wines UK (VINO), although now down from having been approaching 50p in the first half of 2024, at 45p are still well up from having fallen towards 30p in January this year. However, what about the current share price comparing to a most recent close 49p after news from the company today?…

  7. BREAKING EXPOSE: Argo’s new CEO and his murky Delaware past
Yesterday, with assistance from Evil Banksta I exposed HERE and HERE, just how pungent is the latest acquisition and bailout of Argo Blockchain (ARB). It stinks to high heaven and the FCA should be all over it. It is the first deal announced by Argo’s new CEO Justin Nolan. But what of his last masterstroke at Argo on his first tour of duty there.

  8. Naked Wines – shares soar on “New Strategic Plan”, but is the announcement ramptastic?
A “New Strategic Plan” announcement from online wine retailer (Oops, “not just an online wine retailer; we're trailblazers on a mission to enable enthusiastic wine drinkers to enjoy great wine without the guesswork”!), Naked Wines (WINE) has currently helped the shares up more than 30% today to above 80p. Does that look justified or is the announcement ramptastic?

  9. Skinbiotherapeutics – just wondering about those interims?
Last year, Skinbiotherapeutics (SBTX) announced on 8 March that its interim results, to December 31, would be out on 22 March and they duly arrived on that day. To be fair to the bearded Geordie poltroon, Stuart Ashman, he has historically been jolly good about issuing an RNS to flag up when results will be out and past performance is, whatever the FCA says, very often a good guide to the future. But…

  10. Wynnstay Group – AGM trading update, a trading recovery Buy
Agricultural supplies and services group Wynnstay (WYN) has issued an “AGM Update” on trading including that its “trading over the first four months of the financial year… is slightly ahead of the same period last year… in line with the board's expectations” and that “farmgate prices are trending more favourably across most categories, which has helped farmer sentiment”. That all looks to suggest very strong value here from a current 310p to buy the shares.

The most-listened-to Bearcasts articles this week were:

    1. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast No1: reviewing my gold portfolio, a mixed bag but I am very much aheadLike Nigel yesterday
I accept my portfolio is a mixed bag. But with the least important gold stocks doing the worst and the largest holdings doing the best I am well ahead overall. In this podcast I discuss: Amaroq (AMRQ), Ariana (AAU), Bluebird Mining Ventures (BMN), Anglo Gold Ashanti (US:AU), red Rock Resources (RRR), Wishbone (WSBN) and Golden Prospect Precious Metals (GPM). I state the bleeding obvious about a company I no longer write about but where I own shares, for the CEOs of Ariana and Amaroq I suggest corporate actions to drive a re-rate..

    2. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast No 2: Stifel joins the bears at Oxford Nanopore but its valuation is still generous and bloody colonials
I start with some justified abuse of our favourite Canadian, then its Oxford Nanopore (ONT), Celadon (CER), Wishbone Gold (WSBN), Wildcat (WCAT), comedy from Jerry Keen and Predator (PRD) and Wellnex (WNX), an IPO from the land where 1/3 of the population have the criminal gene, which should be avoided like the plague.

    3. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast No 2: reputations built over many years can be destroyed in weeks and months, ref Ariana and Probiotix
I cover two more aspects of the Ariana (AAU) placing, I share Nigel's fury. I touch on Skinbiotherapeutics (SBTX) being very naughty with information leak which will enrage its lying scumbag Nomad Giles Bellend. I look at Distil (DIS), CMO (CMO) and Genflow (GENF) whose RNS is surely a spoof and at Probiotix (PBX)

    4. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast No 1: Utterly fecked off with Ariana and Skinbiotherapeutics, heads should roll but I am not selling either
Ariana Resources (AAU) has done a discounted placing and Skinbiotherapeutics (SBTX) has served up crap interims and scaled back guidance. The chairman of Ariana and the FD at Skins, Manprick, should be falling on their swords. I expect to make money longer term from both but short term both have scored big own goals.

    5. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast No 1: Given a life ban by Asda in Chester, is this good or even honest retailing
Having already said that I was going to boycott the place the life ban is not devastating. I explain why it happened but it all seems very bad retailing. Am I missing something?

    6. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast No 2 - All about Amaroq
I look at today's news from my largest mining holding, Amaroq (AMRQ) and explain exactly why the shares will more than double from here and I do so with hard numbers, not a touch of the Adam Reynolds about it.

    7. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast No 2: a blazing row with the Mrs looms over a hideous piano that has just arrived in my study
It is all down to definitions and in that vein I also discuss Skinbiotherapeutics (SBTX). The it is onto Aston Martin Lagonda (AML) and Donald Trum,p, Sealand Capital Galaxy (SGCL), Invinity (IES), still a stonking short, Electric Guitar (ELEG) and finally the scandal at Innovate UK that its new CEO should look at regarding Versarien (VRS). PS Kerim Sener of Ariana (AAU) has agreed to record a video next week with me. I shall not give him an easy time.

    8. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast No 2: Futura set to flop like a limp todger
I start with myth busting on the so called housing crisis and on trump invading Greenland and the bogus threat to Amaroq (AMRQ). Then Predator Oil & Gas (PRD) and why the shares must now be suspended if audited numbers could be falsified, Futura Medical (FUM), Technology Minerals (TM1) and Celadon (CEL)

    9. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast No 3: O'Hara is meeting Coca Cola today says the Lemming and demands an RNS, what planet is he on?
In my third Bearcast I discuss Optibiotix (OPTI), Probiotix (PBX), Parkmead (PMG), URU (URI) and UK Oil & Gas (UKOG)

    10. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Rachel needs to chat to Brian Kinane ASAP, do you have questions for Nick Lee?
I start with a rugger triumph for Jaya, then the Spring statement, AI and which jobs will go, a lot in the public sector, I suggest, and mine as well. Finally do you have any questions for Nick Lee and news from my garden.

    11. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast No 1: ADVFN to quit AIM, where does that leave ADVFN and where does it leave the Casino? For ADVFN (AFN) the move makes sense, as for the AIM Casino it needs a wholesale reform. I have some ideas for the London Stock Exchange (LSE) where I am, of course, a loyal shareholder.

    12. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast No 1: Explaining the REAL reason for Friday's Amaroq share price puke and why it is a great buying opportunity
I set our in house bien pensant PL straight and explain the opportunity gifted to you to buy Amaroq (AMRQ) shares first thing on Monday if you do not already own - the stock, at 92p, is worth well over 200p as I explained HERE.

    13. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast No1: Stockmarket high stinks, Genedrive, Peel Hunt and Georgina Energy
In this first bearcast I look at events yesterday afternoon at Genedrive (GDR) and what appears to be going on at Georgina Energy (GEX). Suffice to say it all stinks.

    14. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast No 2- surely heads must roll at First Class Metals, Novum and at the FCA after today's exposes
I am not sure that pleading incompetence is enough. First Class Metals (FCM) shares must now be suspended and heads must roll there at the scumbag advisor Novum and at the FCA after today's two exposes on this website about the 79th Group, Steven Knight and Gary Webster
