Character Group – “withdrawing the market guidance” blaming tariffs, but what about the already “challenging” trading conditions?

Designer, developer and international distributor of toys, games and giftware Character Group (CCT) has issued a “Trading Update” including that it expects to report in mid-May results for its half-year ended February 2025 that trading results will be in line with market expectations and concludes that it “continues to have a strong balance sheet with healthy cash balances and the board is confident that it can ride out this storm. As we gain a clearer picture of the global economic landscape emerging, we will update shareholders further”. So what about a share price, already down from 340p less than a year ago, currently more than 6% further down in response towards 240p?
