By Tom Winnifrith | Wednesday 14 August 2024

Disclosure: I own shares in one or more of the stocks mentioned. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it (other than from ShareProphets). I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article.

Darren is in charge so no guarantees but we should start sending out tickets and details of logistics THIS MORNING, the lawn was mowed again yesterday and more plum ice cream for supper at ShareStock was made last night. The countdown is underway! IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED A TICKET EMAIL ME NOT DARREN!.

A good number of folks make a full weekend of it and join us in a local boozer the night before Sharestock. I shall let attendees know which one in a mailing going out in a few days time. The schedule for the day is now inked in and now more than 80 folks will be gathered on the lawn on September 7. It is not to late to book to join us and you can do so HERE the full itinerary is:

From 8.30 AM Breakfast. Croissants and home made jam, tea, coffee, juice. No alcohol at this stage, the free bar ( everything is in the ticket price) will serve Wrexham Lager, Cheshire Cat Ale, Prosecco , red wine and rose from 10.30 AM onwards and late into the night when it has been drunk dry.

9:00 am Tom Winnifrith. A few introductory remarks and a couple of jokes.

9:05 am Lucien Miers. The Bard of the Boleyn, one of the UK’s best known short sellers, Lucian Miers will outline the challenging environment bears face right now then dig onto a number of special situations mainly short but the odd long explaining why he has a position.

9:40 am CEO on the spot - Aidan Bishop of Bluebird Merchant Ventures (BMV) a wannabee gold producer in South Korea and the Philippines. Aidan will be quizzed and challenged by Tom Winnifrith.

9:55 am Peter Brailey, the oil and energy guru. Peter famously predicted negative oil prices and has also been clear on how Net Zero, a policy championed by his own party, is such a disaster. Peter will give his macro take on oil, gas and energy prices and then outline six oil stocks which will collapse.

10:35 am Coffee Break and the bar is open

10:50 am Evil Banksta/Jaknife. Liverpool’s greatest numbers man since Ken Dodd is one of the UK’s most successful short sellers of small caps. Recent big wins include Harland & Wolff, Belluscura and Upland Resources. EB will go through his current short portfolio and highlight his big calls right now explaining why they are such nailed down short certs.

11:30 AM Nick Lee CEO on the spot - Nick Lee of Mindflair will be grilled by Tom Winnifrith. Is his company’s NAV real and is it not sub scale?

11:45 am. Jim Mellon Britain’s Buffett is always a tour de force. His presentation cover the big macro calls long and short and also stock specific ideas to make money. Longevity, the fight against fat, the bloated state are bound to be on the agenda but there will be much more.

12:35 pm Lunch with Chef Vijay. The man who catered to my most recent wedding and the christening of his youngest daughter is back by popular demand with a cracking Indian lunch.

1:45 pm Harry Adams. CEO on the spot - Harry Adams of Kefi Gold & Copper. Will ‘arry have delivered final project funding sign off for Tulu Kapi by September 7 and if not why not. Long erm shareholder Tom Winnifrith is far from unconditionally supportive and will give Adams a tough grilling

2:00 pm. Boatman Capital. The bear raiders who exposed Babcock and also Argo Blockchain are back after a one year break from Sharetock. Is Argo still a short? At the centre of this presentation will be one stock where both the bull and bear cases will be presented. You choose.

2:40 pm Brian Kinane The Riverfort boss and Barry Downes will discuss the AI revolution and why the bubble has not burst

3.20 Tea. Home made Barra Brith (a Welsh cake), tea and scones with cream and home made jam

4:00 pm. Cathal Friel. CEO on the spot - Cathal Friel of European Green Transition, an IPO that has actually flown. Cathal will be grilled by Tom who is a bit of a green sceptic (as you might have gathered).

4:15 pm Tom Winnifrith (me) A short dossier, or two from your host. In the first year of ShareStock I exposed Tingo before anyone else was on the case. This year my two targets are far closer to come. I will not hold back, this will be detailed and hard hitting.

4:45 pm Matt Earl – aka The Dark Destroyer, one of the UK’s top short sellers. Among his targets last year was Drax which is now very much in the news. But Matt was not so fortunate with Darktrace. He will have three new targets to expose at ShareStock but will revisit a couple of old favourites too.

Supper Served from 5:30pm. Cold salmon, home grown potatoes & salad. Followed by home made ice cream ( strawberry, elderflower, lavender, chocolate chip mint, rhubarb and ginger and maybe nettle too)

6:00 pm Welsh Choir led by Joshua’s Welsh teacher singing a couple of sigs in English but the rest in Welsh including Myfanwy (in honor of my Great Aunt) and Sosban Fach where Joshua might just be persuaded to join in.

The bar stays open as long as there is drink to drink, we will not kick anyone out.

Who would miss out on this? You can book your seats HERE
