The comedy continues at Moonpig Group

Before we get onto the continuing comedy at Moonpig (MOON), some good news out today for GSK (GSK) and Haleon (HLN) shareholders with some observations about the Zantac (ranitidine) litigation which has hassled both the latter two shares over the last few months.

Surely Moonpig is a short at 171p?

What am I missing dear readers but surely a company that sells extraordinarily expensive personalized greeting cards and a range of gifts in Britain and Holland must be at risk of a slowdown in discretionary consumer spending? I refer to Moonpig (MOON), a company whose valuation discounts no such slowdown so ahead of interims on December 7 should you go short?

Back in February last year I asked the question about whether Moonpig Group (MOON) was “a mad or amazing new share?”. Fortunately I concluded the former, as the c. 440p share price it had back then is now an amazing 240p, and I did not buy any shares (and I hope you did not either). So what to think about the update today from the “leading online greeting card and gifting platform, comprising the Moonpig brand in the UK and the Greetz brand in the Netherlands”....?
