Notes from Underground – Most read articles for the week ending 30 April 2022

These are the most-read articles and most listened-to Bearcasts of the week. The most read non-Tom article is The View From The Montana Log-Cabin As Gold (And Everything Else) Sells Off by Nigel Somerville at Number 3 or Number 10 if you include Bearcasts.

BREAKING: Chill Brands – FRC IS now investigating crooked interims

Earlier this week, I complained to the FRC about the grotesquely misleading interims, published by the fraud, Chill Brands (CHLL), on 28 January. Given the company has now undertaken a bailout fundraise, the FCA will have to act.  Moreover…

The View From The Montana Log-Cabin As Everything Bubble Deflates, Dragging Down Gold: Bring Back Arthur Scargill!

Everything is going down: shares, precious metals, bonds – it is all one way traffic south. The Nasdaq is now officially in a bear market, and has seen all of last year’s gains wiped out. The Dow is down from almost 37,000 at the turn of the year to 32,977 and all the US indexes slumped into yeserday’s close. But Bonds are also falling, and Gold had a poor week too – perhaps no surprise, given the general sell-off.

Video: The Deflationary Crash is Nearly Here

Macroeconomist, Henrik Zeberg, warns there is a blow-off top coming, which will unfold over mid-summer. This will be followed by a deflationary bust, taking everything down.  Then, we’re going to see devastating stagflation.

Supply@Me Capital – was Mercator the big buyer of worthless shares on Friday?

The question being asked on the LSE Asylum, as well as Twitter, was: who was the big buyer of Supply@ME Capital’s (SYME) worthless shares, at the close of business on Friday?  On 22 April, at around 16.50 pm, there were, according to LSE Asylum’s share trade indicator, three 90 million buys, at £71,410 each, and a monster 285 million buys for £228,000, at 16.35 million.  In total, these buys amount to over £440,000.

Minoan – FY21 Results: Any Progress Monetising Assets? Yes, things are changing!

AIM-listed Greek Holiday resort developer Minoan (MIN) released its full-year results to October 2021 last week. It has been a terrible tip as delays and more delays beset a proposed holiday resort at Cavo Sidero in Crete; has there finally been some concrete progress in monetising the asset?

ADVFN – Yair Tauman seizes control – what happens next?

I write this as someone who operates a small venture with ADVFN (AFN), and, at this point, nobody has bothered to tell me where I stand; so, what follows is informed speculation - I am in the dark as much as you.  Yesterday afternoon, the GM results came in.

CAR

Carclo – argues “strong” demand, so why are the shares slumping?...

Carclo (CAR) “is pleased to report that the business expects to report a strong performance for the year” and that “demand in the group's key markets remains strong coming into the new financial year”. So what of a current share price of 24.5p, down nearly 10%?!...

Catenae Innovation – One Month Into Suspension And Still No Accounts

AIM-listed (pro tem) Catenae Innovation (CTEA) updated the market this morning over its suspension from trading due to the non-appearance of its FY account to September 2021. One month down, five to go.

Video: The Metals Bull Market isn’t Dead

Analyst and trader David Kranzler argues that the weekly economic data is indicative of the U.S. already in a recession. Eighty percent of all U.S. households have been experiencing the characteristics of a recession. Credit card usage is spiking and this is likely because people are relying on them to make ends meet. Inflation remains rampant at double digits.

Good news for Reckitt and SIG shareholders….and more comedy at AO World

Another busy Friday on the markets.  It is all good fun especially with regard to my holdings in Reckitt (RKT) and SIG (SHI) shares both of which produced positive updates.  So a quick appraisal of the good news first…and then I will move onto the continued comedy at AO World (AO.).

BREAKING: Nightcap - feel that £750 an hour cashburn! Utterly misleading trading statement – bailout placing ahoy!

Dragon’s Den star, Sarah Willingham, cannot contain her excitement as she gushes about “further positive trading” in a Q3 statement, out today. She is, however, a bit shy on the record cashburn and looming cash crisis at Nightcap (NGHT), which means another bailout placing is imminent.

Tom Winnifrith Bonus Bearcast: An industry insider spills the beans on the new shocking Supply@ME Capital death spiral

This morning, I had a long chat with an industry insider, concerning the latest death spiral from the fraud, Supply@ME Capital (SYME); what I relay to you is truly shocking. Anyone holding these shares is bonkers.

Letter to Marcus and Mark as Mkango Resources joins the FY misleading investors club

I have already flagged how Canadian Overseas Petroleum (COPL) and Pure Gold (PUR) misled investors, by hiding auditors' warnings. Now, Mkango Resources (MKA) has joined the deceiving club. The FCA, as regulator of the Standard List, must act. I have penned the letter below to Mark Steward at the FCA, and the bogus Sheriff of AIM, Marcus Stuttard.

Winnileaks Breaking News - Julie Meyer work permit (below) expires - will the Swiss turf her out too?

For obvious reasons, involving avoiding going to the slammer, Julie "Lingerie on expenses" Meyer is not heading back to the UK or Malta any time soon. In the US she has repeatedly lied to the IRS about those unpaid taxes from 2001 and so she will not be setting foot in the land of the free either. So what of her current bolt-hole: Switzerland? Well there is a problem as, thanks to Winnileaks, you can see below.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - Eurasia Mining: it has been 6 months, put up or STFU

In today's bearcast I discuss the different regulatory failings of AIM and the Standard List referring to 2 companies worth 0p, Vast Resources (VAST) and the fraud Chill Brands (CHLL) and the lies they tell.  I look at Amur Minerals (AMC) and Eurasia Mining (EUA) and in detail at Novacyt (NCYT). I mention Jubilee Metals (JLP) where I am a loyal shareholder.

Letter to FCA – the fraud, Chill Brands, deceiving investors again ahead of placing

How investors wish that the FCA had dealt with my previous letters as a responsible regulator of the Standard List would have done. But it did not, and thus, earlier this week, the fraud, Chill Brands (CHLL), announced a bailout placing at just 2p. Unfortunately, it is clear that on a number of grounds, investors were deceived ahead of that fundraise. I have written to the FCA.
