I guess the average actuary is loving today’s SSE numbers…

By Chris Bailey | Wednesday 15 November 2023

Disclosure: I own shares in one or more of the stocks mentioned. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it (other than from ShareProphets). I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article.

As was once observed: “you can really only enjoy life when you're extremely busy”. My brain should have been even more mangled than normal by close of play yesterday, but it was not. What I wanted to write about were the various numbers from the great, the solid and the comically avoidable FTSE 100 names that were reporting yesterday, but it did not happen and I apologise for that. I know I could write about them today, but I always prefer to write live when a company has just given its excuses (or worse). Suffice to say, I am still loving up DCC plc (DCC) even after its 10% plus share price rise yesterday, Imperial Brands (IMB) is still a total return solid play and you still do not need to bother with Vodafone (VOD) shares. For a Wednesday, today is pretty chilled by comparison.
