At the UK Investor Show there were six Dragon's Den sessions. As a result of each £3,000 of my real money was invested after each dragon picked one of the 4 companies doing an elevator pitch. In session six the Dragons were me (Tom Winnifrith), Gary Newman and Steve Moore. The companies pitching were: Falanx,  Thor Mining, Karoo Energy and Bezant Resources

Whenever a company doubles in share price in a short space of time it tends to get my attention, and I look for reasons that justify such a sudden increase.

And next up is Michael McNeilly of mining investment company Metal Tiger (MTR), who I met socially a few months ago and is good fun for what that is worth.

Previously writing on Photonstar LED (PSL) just over two months ago, I suggested £0.43 million of funds then raised not likely to last long. Recently though, ahead of a release of its “next generation halcyon cloudBMS product”, the shares have soared and thus surprise, surprise…

Hello Share Scorchers. In a well-written reply to my earlier article on how to secure our shares in future after the Beaufort affair, that wise Shareprophets contributor, Drunken Sailor felt I was over-egging the pudding.  

The lawyer's letter? I must keen you in suspense as I discuss with my lawyers how to respond so you can still vote on who sent it HERE. I also chatted today to Lucian about three slam dunk shorts: Telit (TCM), Purplebricks (PURP) and Tesla (TSLA). Or are they slam dunks? Might disbelief be suspended forever.? I then look at Photonstar Led (PSL) at Conroy Gold (CGNR) and at how AIM gives capitalism a bad name by not letting bust companies such as Andalas (ADL) fail.

I asked the question yesterday whether the net debt figure claimed by Telit (TCM) as at 31 December was representative. If so why have so much expensive debt but also so much cash yielding bugger all. A reader helps - this is window dressing.

First a hat tip to fellow ShareProphets scribe Gary Newman who absolutely called it three or so weeks ago when he wrote HERE, highlighting the overly negative reaction of Polymetal (POLY) shares to the news of varying sanctions on Russian corporate names and businessmen. After having an opportunity to speak with the management of the company last week, I completely agree with Gary's assertion.

Goldplat (GDP) has updated on the third quarter (to 31^st March) of its year – including gold equivalent production of 6,966 ounces, taking the year-to-date to 27,212 ounces…

Big Dave Lenigas pulls the strings here but he was in the land of High Culture on business matters on April 21. So Rob Scott stood in and presented on behalf of Anglo African (AAAP) where I am, for reasons I cannot really remember, a long suffering, if small, shareholder. Over to a man called Scott who is not a drunk and who appeared on time to present coherently. Clearly he's not related to Paul.

Noting yesterday that Julie Meyer MBE had hired a new high powered lawyer (to replace the half dozen or more to whom her companies owe money for unpaid bills) I wondered why ace PR spinner Henry Gewanter did not have his name on the release. Henry has answered with a post on the article. It reads:

Despite missing even the most pessimistic forecasts, Telit Communications (TCM) was given the thumbs up by the market, up 3% as I write, to 160p. I guess on the basis that the kitchen sink job is now over and it is onwards and upwards from here.

No one seemed to disagree that Ali and Julie came across incredibly well at the show. Sosandar (SOS) is a stock that I own as does Nigel Wray and so does Paul Scott who, in his sober moments, is a good retail analyst. Anyhow see what you think. I reckon the shares are a great buy at 15.5p.

I was told last night by the PR spinner to Andalas (ADL) that I should be asking about its new focus in the North Sea, how it will build value, yadda, yadda, yadda. FFS This company has no assets of value, it is burning stacks of cash every day and has NEGATIVE Net current assets of up to $2 million, even after the £600,000 placing on Monday - what don't you understand about the words "FECKING INSOLVENT" darling? I leave it to Monty Python to explain the true state of Andalas below. Meanwhile here are 4 Burning questions it is not answering so I - and Brokerman Dan - will keep asking.

I should declare that about eight years ago I borrowed C$20 from Kiran Morzaria in a snow bound Toronto and have yet to pay him back so there is a clear conflict of interest here. Not!
