Structural steel company Severfield (SFR) has announced results for its half-year ended 23rd September 2023 and that it continues to expect to deliver further progress and a full-year performance in line with expectations. The View From The Montana Log-Cabin As Gold Beats $2,000 – Will It Last?
Gold closed the week above $2,000 at $2,003 as yet another attempt at clearing the psychological resistance is ongoing. Chartists will, no doubt, be getting very excited, with the end-of-month closing on Thursday as end-of-month closes are apparently more significant. But will it last?- By Nigel Somerville |

A “Trading Update” announcement today from AIM Awards 2021 shortlisted both 'Growth Business of the Year' and 'Entrepreneur of the Year' (for CEO “Debbie Bestwick MBE”) and winner 'Diversity Champion', Team17 Group (TM17). Optibiotix sells more Skinbiotherapeutics shares – Steve O’Hara explains why
I guess that while Stuart Ashman might have taken me off his Christmas card list after my recent bearcast on Skinbiotherapeutics (SBTX), Steve O’Hara at Optibiotix (OPTI) seems to agree with my analysis. We have swapped emails this morning after the publication of a TR1.- By Tom Winnifrith |

The comedy excitement of consumer spending before, during and after “Black Friday”
At a certain level, I don’t really understand GfK’s monthly Consumer Confidence Index statistics. Unlike the (correctly much aligned) Purchasing Managers' Index data, which is growing if it is above fifty and declining if it is below fifty, the always-neutral GfK data feels all the time like comparing one bad number with a slightly less bad or slightly worse alternative. I was looking back at the UK GfK statistics for the 2010s, for a bit of late amusement, and the only time it was actually above zero during the “everything is awesome” decade was, briefly, in 2015. Spot the…unusual statistics!- By Chris Bailey |

Gooch & Housego – now a recovery value Buy
Shares in manufacturer of photonic (light waves) components and systems for sectors including aerospace & defence, industrial and life sciences Gooch & Housego (GHH) reached above 660p this summer and, after falling back, had recovered to 550p last month following a trading update. That “ahead of expectations” update suggested further share price upside potential but stock market sentiment saw the shares then again fall back and, available at a 510p offer price, we now consider them a recovery value BUY.- By HotStockRockets |

Harland & Wolff makes itself look ever more Scilly as it teeters on the brink
Facing a cash crisis of monumental proportions, Harland & Wolff (HARL) has come up with a cunning plan of which Baldrick would be proud. That is to say that it has launched a cash offer for the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company Limited. Scilly by name but not silly by nature the Steamship Company has told Harland to feck off in the strongest possible terms.- By Tom Winnifrith |

Pets at Home looks cheap and interim results next week should show that it is on track for further growth and with another buyback to come - BUY
Although the retail sector seems to be out of favour at the moment, with concerns about the economy and inflation, some companies are still managing to buck the trend and show a decent performance, and I expect Pets at Home (PETS) to fall into that category when it announces its interim results next Tuesday.- By Gary Newman |

Letter to AIM Regulation: Nightcap and a breach of AIM Rule 11
This is a slam dunk breach. Sarah Willingham and NightCap (NGHT), assisted by Nomad Allenby have clearly broken AIM Rule 11. I have written to Marcus Stuttard and the team of Oxymorons at AIM Regulation asking if they give a FF about this and will they enforce their own rules.- By Tom Winnifrith, the Sheriff of AIM |
