Diurnal – interims noting revenue growth, so why the share price slump?...

Hormonal diseases-targeting pharmaceutical group Diurnal (DNL) has announced results for its half-year ended 31st December 2021 including “Alkindi product sales (including royalties) for the period increased to £1.74m, representing year-on-year growth of 46%… Efmody initial product sales for the period of £0.39m were in line with the company’s expectations”. So why a share price response to below 18p, more than 46% lower?!…

Is the fraud Supply@Me Capital sitting on Mercator share conversion notices?

The Mercator death spiral, can be repaid in cash or at Supply@ME Capital’s (SYME) option by being swapped into a convertible loan note.  The total repayable is now £7.7 million repayable in 12 monthly instalments from inception.  To date Supply has made 3 full repayments and one partial repayment as set out below:

Knights Group – now states “lower than management's expectations”… after February and March director selling?!

Legal and professional services group Knights (KGH) has announced recent “lower than management’s expectations” performance but, with “cash conversion remains robust, with industry leading lock-up and debtor days”, is a share price response to below 200p, a more than 45% fall, justified?…

BREAKING: Music Magpie a zero explained: Part 1 the IPO Monster Lie

Amazingly Music Magpie (MMAG) is one of the three most recognised names in e-tail but that is all in the past. Since its IPO at 193p in April of last year it has all been downhill and at 62.5p the shares now have just another 62.5p to lose. This is a zero in waiting and in a multi-part series starting today I shall explain why…

SHEL

With the Financial World Jostling to Predict a Higher Share Price for Shell, What's Stopping it?

Hello Share Gatherers. Like many smarter investors, I tend to take the targets of big banks and brokers with a pinch of salt. But occasionally when they come together in their findings, I look a bit harder. And in the case of Shell (SHEL) the analysts certainly agree with each other. They all seem jolly enthusiastic.

POS

Plexus – half-year results, is the tide now turning?

Oil and gas engineering services business and owner of the proprietary POS-GRIP method of wellhead engineering, Plexus Holdings (POS) has announced results for its half-year ended 31st December 2021 and argues “the tide is now turning” in its favour. Is it?…

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: I start the expose of a new well known zero in waiting tomorrow but here are three to tuck into first

Forgive the voice. Last week’s cold has left me sounding like I have been swallowing gravel. I start with a few words about distractions today which included ordering 72 blackthorn plants and 12 wild blackberry bushes and fetching antique Welsh furniture to go to Greece. Then I ponder whether Nigel is reinvesting his Ariana (AAU) dividends in Ariana (AAU).I explain why I am not and where I am putting the cash. Or  rather I am sitting on the fence between Optibiotix (OPTI) and Skinbiotherapeutics (SBTX). The 3x company I mentioned on Saturday, is a well known one and will be exposed via a multi-part series kicking off tomorrow at 8.30 AM and it is, I am sure, a zero.  Ahead of then I discuss what makes a real bear market and how it affects rubbish stocks out of cash. Until you see  a good few RNS statements each month saying that “shares are suspended pending clarification” you are not in a bear market.  In that vein, I mention three POS companies which RIGHT NOW have no cash and are burning it: Vast Resources (VAST), Chill Brands (CHLL) and Supply@ME Capital (FRAUD) and I discuss the next steps for that trio and why the net is tightening on them.

BKS

Beeks Financial Cloud – half-year results emphasise “underlying EBITDA”… what about cash flow?

Financial markets cloud computing and connectivity group Beeks Financial Cloud (BKS) has announced results for its half-year ended 31st December 2021 and that “even excluding contribution from Exchange Cloud, the board are confident in achieving results for the year in line with market expectations, having already upgraded FY22 revenue expectations three times in the last six months”. So why are the shares currently slightly lower to 144.5p, a £81.4 million market cap, in response, particularly as they were around 200p a couple of months ago?…

Asimilar – when is a profit not a profit? This is a nest of snakes waiting to bite you

I have covered in some depth the numerous smoke and mirrors deals at Asimilar (ASLR) and it is an accident waiting to happen as its results today demonstrate very clearly. The company boasts net assets at the September 30th year end of £41.74 million. At 27.5p the market cap is £33.5 million. Put simply the market does not believe the net asset number. It could easily halve or, far, worse.

Ariana – Venus IPO Set For Q2: a cue to BUY

News this morning from AIM-listed Gold-producer in Turkey, Ariana Resources (AAU), is that its (currently) 50%-owned investee Venus Minerals is set for an IPO on AIM during Q2. This is very positive, and will surely give Ariana’s shares a boost when completed.

Deals by recent tips Barrick Gold and PZ Cussons

I see shares in Antofagasta (ANTO) are up a few percent – further building the mining company’s inevitably positive year-to-date performance – on the news that it has raised $900 million from “selling its 50% stake…(to) Barrick Gold and the Pakistan government to end its involvement in the Reko Diq project in the southwest of the country”.

INSG

Insig AI – “pleased to announce” New Funds division & operations update, so why the share price fall?...

Insig AI (INSG) states that it “is pleased to announce the launch of a New Funds division and provide a wider operations update”. So why are the shares currently at 23.5p, more than 9.5% lower?…

Supply@Me Capital – not a Turkish delight spoof as cash crisis becomes critical.

Next month, April 2022, auditors will have to decide of they can sign off on the accounts of the fraud Supply@ME Capital (SYME). There will be the usual restatements (aka admissions of past lies) but the big issue is, ceteris paribus, whether this company is deemed technically insolvent and can get a sign off at all.  A reminder of the maths before today’s, pathetic, spoofing is exposed.

Vast Resources the death spiral that was meant to be replaced crunches the share price again - official target now 0p

On January 31 Vast Resources (VAST) announced that it had almost replaced its Atlas death spiral with alternative funding, a refinancing. Natch that was grossly misleading! This is Vast after all.

Softcat Seems to be Purring Along but the Share Price Ain't Yet as Lofty as it Could Be

Hello Share Munchers. Because of the war, covid and galloping inflation, most companies have seen their share values drop. Yet some outfits are doing better than ever and their shares deserve to be rising rather than falling. This especially looks to apply to IT consultants, many of which are flying as modes of working change in Blighty and across the globe.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast – When director share buying is a sell signal

I start with a few words on some odious remarks made by Ukranian President Zelensky and a few more on Radio 5 Live Rugby commentary which was just so bad it was off the scale. Then it is onto share buying which is a sell signal, referencing two Nigel articles this  weekend on UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) and Advanced Oncotherapy(AVO) but bringing in incidents at Amur Minerals (AMC), Nanosynth (NNN) when it was the Strat Aero fraud and Jim Mellon’s Condor Gold (CNR)

Imperial Brands – “Update on Russia and Revised Guidance”, Buy

Advanced Oncotherapy – When’s The Placing As Cash-Crisis Mounts Amid Shares Falling Below Par

I noted at the beginning of this month that AIM-listed Advanced Oncotherapy (AVO) needs to get a fundraise away pronto, but that its shares were threatening to drop below the nominal price of 25p, below which it cannot issue new shares by law. On Friday the shares closed at 24p (mid) and I would suggest that Advanced – or, rather, its shareholders – have a big problem.

The View From The Montana Log-Cabin As Gold Corrects From Assault On Record High

Gold ended the week at $1922 – down from last week’s $1991 as the assault on the record high petered out. The Fed raised interest rates, the Bank of England hiked rates again, the Ukraine war continued with more horrific attacks and inflation was still there rearing its ugly head.
