Blackbird – “Director Subscription”, but how significant is it?…

Considering itself as a “market-leading cloud video platform” company, Blackbird plc (BIRD) has announced that, following its recent placing announcement and release of its annual results, “certain members of the board (and associated family members) and the company's management have conditionally subscribed for a total of approximately £70,000 of new shares in the company”. Hmmm, how significant really is this investment?

Petrofac: the debt is telling you that the shares will collapse

Debt markets are always more efficient than equity markets. The screenshot below ( hat tip TK) shows that Petrofac (PFC) debt can now be bought at less than fifty cents in the dollar and the price is falling fast. That tells you that the equity is near as damn it worthless. Stay short or go short, this is free money for the bears as I have been flagging up for a while.

I start with the budget and i am not impressed.at all sorts of levels. Then it is the US elections and I hope that you laid Nikki Haley as advised earlier in the week as she was thrashed on Super Tuesday and is now out of the race. Then Kefi Gold & Copper (KEFI), Chill Brands (CHLL) and Capita (CPI) - the data relating to the podcast reference to Islamophobia and Anti Semitism is HERE

If Ben’s Creek owes you $1 it is in trouble, if it owes you $14 million you are in trouble

Having said that it would lend Ben’s Creek (BEN) an additional $5 million last month, 29.9% shareholder Avani has today raised that to $7.5 million or possibly $10 million. The first five has already been spent on “working capital” or, in plain English, funding ongoing losses. And there is more bad news.
The new facility will be repayable on July 1 2025 but can be called in at any time if Ben’s fails to ship coal in any two consecutive months. The interest rate is an eye watering 13% although I certain circumstances that can rise to 16%.

Science in Sport – “Trading Update”. Er, what about the 2024 outlook against expectations which dare not speak its name?

There is an announcement, titled “Trading Update”, today from Science in Sport (SIS), but which also has a headline “Fundamental Change in Operating Model and Restructuring of Cost Base”. Hmmm, as is usual, is that because trading isn’t going well?

More Ouzo As Esken – Ex-Stobart Group - Announces Coming Demise

It is another round of Ouzo at ShareProphets Towers as Esken (ESKN), the former Stobart Group, has announced it has run out of runway at Southend airport. I have been saying sell all the way down from 35p in May 2021. The shares are now just 0.04p as the company admits there will be nothing left.

Sondrel – “pleased to announce” convertible loan agreement, but only because the alternative was insolvency?

Sondrel (SND) states that it is “pleased to announce that it has entered into a £874,600 secured 15% convertible loan agreement”. With though the shares currently at 10p, compared to above 60p as recently as August last year and a 55p per share AIM listing only in October 2022, how ‘pleasing’ is the agreement really?

Chill Brands: ahead of budget catastrophe it is what it is still not saying

The budget later today will almost certainly see chancellor Jeremy Hunt stiff smokers with extra taxes but also start to stiff vapers with taxes too. Gone is the idea of using fiscal policy to shift smokers into healthier vaping. Both vices are bad for your health and Nanny state will punish sinners in the pocket in order to fund the hiring of more diversity officers, Gary Lineker’s pay packet and inflation beating pay rises for NHS consultants on £150,000 a year. No doubt Chill Brands (CHLL) will post a response but that is not the real issue.

PepsiCo owned Doritos trumps Bud Light in #Gowokegobroke as it hires a paedophile brand ambassador

I kid you not. You might have thought that the liberal arts graduates in marketing departments across corporate America would have learned from Bud Lite's collapsing sales after it hired the annoying trans activist Dylan Mulvaney as its brand ambassador. But no, Doritos, Mexican style crisps that taste of cardboard, has gone one better with its hire of the ‘transgender artist’ Samantha Hudson, formally known as Iván González Ranedo, as its brand ambassador in Spain in a sponsored program called “Crunch Talks.” Samantha is not just trans…

Crossword Cybersecurity (CCS) has announced “it has entered into agreements for five year, unsecured, convertible loans to the value of £275,000… to provide additional working capital as the company focuses on achieving EBITDA and cash breakeven in the second half of 2024”.
