Bowleven – Oh Dear, Oh Dear, Oh Dear: SELL

AIM-listed Bowleven (BLVN) updated the market this morning on its Etinde asset in Cameroon – and its finances. Neither news was good, so what to do now with my old share tip?

VINDICATED AGAIN Another day, another ouzo moment – MGC Pharmaceuticals shares collapse

Shares in MGC Pharmceiticals (MXC) were 2.25p valuing the crock at £70 million when I published my first explosive dossier HERE just 20 months ago. Of course folks like broker Turner Pope, evil PR Spinners IFC Advisory (not having a good day are we chaps?) and the bulletin board morons knew better than silly old TW. I’ve kept on exposing this all the way down and today the shares are down by almost 50% on the session at just 0.055p after more disastrous news.
VID

Videndum – interims argue “remains well positioned”. Er what about that, amidst noted macroeconomic headwinds, it “may require an equity raise”?!

Last month writing on ‘content creation’ technology provider Videndum (VID), I noted with the shares further down to below 550p that it would be interesting to see the scale of decline with the half-year results – this why more time is required to finalise them?… avoid/sell. The shares most recently closed at 550p but today the first half of the 2023 calendar year results and, despite the company emphasising “financial performance significantly impacted by ongoing macroeconomic headwinds and effects of destocking, and compounded by the US writers' strike… as previously highlighted”, what of the shares currently significantly further down to below 400p?

Andrew Monk’s latest disgrace: Cook’s Coffee subsidiary Triple Two going bust

Now I really am ashamed to be the unwitting owner of £120 worth of shares in VSA Capital (Very Sexy Andrew), the broker and financial adviser run by egomaniac Andrew Monk, a man – as he mentions daily – educated at Oriel College Oxford. In November of last year VSA racked up a big corporate fee getting an Aquis dual listing for New Zealand listed coffee chain Cooks Coffee (COOK). Cook’s was – as I showed here – essentially insolvent at the time and VSA's forecasts to get the IPO away were a disgrace..

Keep on slapping on the St.Tropez (and owning shares in PZ Cussons): BUY!

Three months ago, I talked about “PZ Cussons (PZC) shares and a bit of currency volatility in Nigeria”. Since then, the shares are little changed but how do I feel about chat this morning observing a “third year of like for like revenue growth” and “continued strategic progress against a challenging external backdrop”?

Panther Metals – Interims And, Sadly, Downgrade

(sub-) Standard-listed Panther Metals (PALM) released its interim results to June yesterday morning. There was plenty positive comment over its portfolio of mining prospects, but the hard issue here is that it is running on fumes as the Board hopes for a change of fortunes in the market. Despite the current nuclear winter in the sector, the company is surviving for now but needs a refinancing within 12 months.

AMTE Power – “pleased to announce” General Meeting resolutions passed. How ‘pleasing’ is this fundraising news?…

AMTE Power (AMTE) “is pleased to announce that, at the General Meeting held earlier today, all resolutions… were duly passed. Admission of the conditional placing shares to trading on AIM is therefore expected to occur on 26 September 2023”. How ‘pleasing’ is this?

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Getting increasingly angry with Andrew Monkey and the Invinity we don't need to raise lie

I start with why I am a bit sluggish and regrets from Saturday. Then to whatever Fox Marble is called these days, Microsaic (MSYS) -another ouzo moment, Victoria (VCP) which should be suspended and Invinity (IES) and the Monkey business
PIER

Brighton Pier Group – interims, just how significant is the upside opportunity for the group currently “in a more typical year”?

Previously writing on Brighton Palace Pier and other UK leisure and entertainment businesses company Brighton Pier Group (PIER), in July with the shares heading down towards 40p I concluded its challenges and valuation meant that I retained caution and continued to avoid the shares ahead of the half-year results detail. What then now of this announcement for the period ended 25th June 2023 and further outlook, with the shares currently down from 43p to 38.5p in response to it?

Ideas from ShareStock No 1 – a short, going into bat against Nigel Wray

I cannot say how much I like and admire and am grateful to Nigel Wray. He was one of a select group at my last wedding 10 years ago and he will be invited to the next one. Not that there will be a next one! But should one go into bat against Wray? This is the first idea from ShareStock at the weekend.

Victoria – possible money laundering at one subsidiary but what about the 57 others?

The annual report from carpets roll up/financial engineering play Victoria (VCP), run by colourful Geoff Wilding, is out this morning and contains a shocking admission. But there may well be far more, here is why we do not know what skeletons are rattling in Victoria's closet.

GOTCHA: Gerry the “arse” Brandon resigned again!

I might have, now and again, referenced the tweet below from Gerry “the arse” Brandon about me. At a time, just under three years ago, when Deepverge (DVRG) and MicroSaic (MSYS) were AIM sewer high fliers, Brandon dismissed my analysis, research and lack of accounting knowledge and trolled me till I blocked the shyster who was widely celebrated on the Bulletin Boards for putting me in my place and exposing my ignorance ….34 months later…
SED

Saietta – trading update states “confident… sufficient funding to meet its current requirements”. How long for are those “current requirements” then?!

Electric vehicle drivetrain group Saietta (SED) has issued a “Full Year Trading Update ahead of AGM” announcement including “turnover (sales and grant income) increased 40% to £6.0m… Cash as at 31 March 2023 period end of £7.3m”. However, turnover is vanity and why approaching six months after its year-end still only a trading update for the year?

Invinity – More Monkey Business: when is the next placing Andrew you dissembling scoundrel?

You may remember that a few weeks ago Andrew Monk got pretty furious when I suggested that he was taking Invinity Energy (IES) to see a stack of Canadian fund managers to lay the groundwork for the next bailout placing. Today we have interims and it is blindingly obvious that as part of his degree in name dropping at Oriel College Oxford, Monkey did not do any maths but he might have done a paper on misleading investors. Natch Invinity boasts of “record” sales and muppet investors seem impressed by that ignoring the company’s own admission today that it is running out of money.

American sports betting is still growing, but that does not mean you should punt on Entain shares today

I am sure that there are a significant minority of people out there who regard investment as gambling…and then are grumpy when their corporate pension fund sometimes does not go up (let alone their house - or houses - price). Whilst I am all over investment, I regard fully owning one house as more than enough and I gamble via the bwin, Coral, Ladbrokes, PartyPoker and Sportingbet owner Entain (ENT) infrequently. However, whilst I might not be one of its target customers, I do keep an eye on the FTSE 100 name as I got lucky on the stock as an investor during the early Covid-19 period.

The View From The Montana Log-Cabin As Gold Continues To Hold As Central Banks Do Likewise

Gold closed the week at $1925 – almost bang on last week’s close of $1924 after a week during which the Fed and the useless Andrew Bailey’s Bank of England finally blinked away from the rear-view mirror for a moment and held interest rates. Are we now finally at the top of the rate-hiking cycle? I wouldn’t like to bet on it, but at least we have a pause.
