Notes from Underground – Most read articles for the week ending Oct 19

By Darren Atwater | Sunday 20 October 2024

The most read non-Tom article last week is The View From The Montana Log-Cabin As Gold Bounces…..Another Leg-Up Coming? by Nigel Somerville at number 2 or number 4 including Bearcasts.

The most-read ShareProphets articles this week were:

  1. More knicker wetting by your fellow Kefi shareholders vicar?
I have a dream that one day Kefi (KEFI) will be taken over. Not so much as this will enrich me personally, in a modest way, but because I will no longer be swamped by emails from folks wetting their knickers at the slightest provocation. Today comes this gem:

  2. The View From The Montana Log-Cabin As Gold Bounces…..Another Leg-Up Coming?
Gold closed the week at $2,657 – up marginally on last week’s $2,653 but a good bounce from this week’s low point just above $2,600. Gold stocks also bounced and look set to head for another recent high as can be seen on the chart below of Gold vs the mining ETFs GDX (majors), GDXJ (juniors) and GOEX (explorers).

  3. EnSilica – “Design & Supply contract award” but what about a results announcement from this supposedly one of the “Best Use of AIM” companies?!
Describing itself as “a leading chip maker of mixed signal ASICs”, EnSilica (ENSI) has announced what CEO Ian Lankshear emphasises is “another excellent win for EnSilica, further underpinning our position as one of the leading custom ASIC suppliers for industrial and automotive applications… adds to the strong portfolio of ASICs we have in the design phase, further supporting the visibility of our recurring revenues”. So what of a share price currently up towards 50p in response?

  4. Eight Capital Partners – Non-Executive Director resignation, yet another big red flag
Today Eight Capital Partners (ECP), the technically insolvent company run by prospectus fraudster Dominic White, announced that Gemma Godfrey an independent non-executive was resigning from the Board as follows:

  5. The fraud Supply@Me Capital – why hasn’t Supply filed its Italian subsidiary accounts?
Over at Italian Companies House, Supply@ME Capital (SYME) remains delinquent in its filings for its two current Italian subsidiaries which are apparently pivotable to its Italian inventory monetisation operations namely:

  6. Video: SkinBiotherapeutics, make up your own mind?
I grow increasingly tired of the increasingly intemperate discourse on Skinbiotherapeutics (SBTX). I am not so much “Mr Angry” as Lemming insists as “Mr Getting beyond caring.” You know my views well so why not just make up your own. The video below is of the bearded Geordie poltroon doing his latest Investor Meet show. If you have an hour of your life to waste here you go…

  7. Feedback plc – emphasises now Elective Recovery Fund reimbursement eligibility, but balance sheet detail that dare not speak its name?
Medical data technology company Feedback plc (FDBK) has announced its ‘Bleepa’ platform is “now eligible for reimbursement under the Elective Recovery Fund and that any Integrated Care Board or hospital in England will, with immediate effect be able to utilise this funding, by local agreement, to reimburse expenditure on the Bleepa technology… Management believes that access to ERF represents a step change in the company's commercial prospects”. What of a share price currently soaring back above 55p in response?

  8. Victorian Plumbing – “Trading Update”… and May’s “significant strategic value” £22.5m acquisition to shut down!
Describing itself as “the UK's leading bathroom retailer”, Victorian Plumbing Group (VIC) has issued a “Full Year Trading Update & Notice of Results” announcement commencing that it “is pleased to report that revenue for FY24 increased by c.4% on the prior year” and including “we have increased profitability, as our higher margin own brand proposition continues to resonate with customers”. What about this from a current 110p share price?

  9. I agree with Tony Blair: it’s time to scrap AIM
It is not often that I find myself in agreement with the old war criminal. In fact, this might almost be a first. But the Tony Blair Institute and right wing think tank Onward claim that the AIM Cesspit is not fit for purpose and should be scrapped.

  10. ProBiotix Health and OptiBiotix Health – time for a mature negotiation which looks possible ex-OptiBiotix Chairman Neil Davidson
ProBiotix Health (AQSE - PBX) has issued a circular for a General Meeting requisitioned on behalf of shareholder Seneca Partners to seek to remove CEO Steen Andersen and Frederik Bruhn-Petersen as directors – and which ProBiotix argues follows ‘consultation’ with OptiBiotix Health (OPTI) acting in breach of contractual obligations.

The most listened-to Bearcasts this week were:

  1. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: a belated sell and an apology on one I got very wrongI start with gold and why I am bullish but not putting more money into small caps like Ariana (AAU) and Kefi (KEFI) yet but stocking with Amaroq (AMRQ) to treble and Centamin (CEY). Then it is more legal problems for the Bluejay (JAY) gang revealed, Coral Products (CRU) and Oxford Biodynamics (OBD).

  2. Tom Winnifrith Bonus Bearcast: More beer and popcorn for Pete Brailey as Probiotix lashes out at OptibiotixI have sent this podcast to all concerned hoping that Adam Reynolds will man up and stop this insanity. It is all very amusing for neutrals like Fag Ash Brailey but for we shareholders in Optibiotix (OPTI) and Probiotix (PBX) it is madness, I suggest what needs to happen including the sacking of Optibiotix chairman Neil Davidson.

  3. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: the Mrs comes down with severe TDSI fear she is not alone, it is sweeping the UK: boy did I get a lecture yesterday. After recalling that earbashing I look at Victoria (VCP) ,target still 0p, Victorian Plumbing (VIC), Tern (TERN) where the share price action stinks and Audioboom (BOOM) which will end in tears as record Q3 revenues are vanity.

  4. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Bracing myselfI start with the rain then flag up that tomorrow is a Shipman day so my content may be restricted. I then look at Versarien (VRS), Ariana (AAU), Victoria (VCP) and Moonpig (MOON)

  5. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Fatherly pride at Jaya's rugby and the loathsome Mail disgraces itself over Pulsar HeliumI start with Jaya's rugger, then BP (BP) as the ESG bubble bursts and finally the wretched Mail pumps insolvent soon to IPO Pulsar Helium, I lose count of the red flags here.

  6. Tom Winnifrith bonus bearcast: more Optibiotix beer and popcorn, call me Sherlock bloody 'olmesAnother missive in the Optibiotix (OPTI) and Probiotix (PBX) saga lands and I do some A grade sleuthing

  7. Tom Winnifrith Bonus Bearcast: betting markets and polls are now moving rapidly in the USA, how to profit from thisThe polls and the betting markets are now moving fast and if, like the Mrs, Evil Banksta, Euroloon Jonathan Price and Lucian Miers you have #TrumpDerangementSyndrome the news is bad. So from an investment perspective how should one react? And I offer up another long odds bet to consider. I should have added that Trump is only 37% to win the popular vote. Again, with most national polls now a tie, that has to be worth a very small flutter.

  8. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: invaded by the Frogs, a Shipman report & moreI start with the Frogs and with a report back on the MRI scan. Then Optibiotix (OPTI), Microsalt (SALT), Boohoo (BOO) and World Chess (CHSS).Finally, I announce a new speaker for Sharestock for which you can book HERE

  9. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: 5 stocks to fall 99% or more, three of them shortableI start with corporate governance, or lack of it, and Union Jack Oil (UJO). Then the 5 to collapse: Versarien (VRS), Celadon (CEL), Supply@ME Capital (FRAUD), Victoria (VCP) and Petra Diamonds (PDL)

  10. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: I may like gold but I disagree with Malcolm and worry about his enthusiasmI start on gold in general and Malcolm Stacey's belated conversion to being a gold bug. I worry about that and think there are better bets than his tip today, Hummingbird (HUM) for reasons I explain. then onto events at Regtech Open (RTOP) and Supply@ME Capital (FRAUD)
