During the Quindell (QPP) fraud takedown half witted MPs including Vince Cable were persuaded to demand action against we wicked bears for trying to bring down a Great British Company. But the stupidity of MPs on short sellers has reached new heights.
My pal Fraser Perring was last year exposing a US company Steward. At the same time both Fraser and another pal, Boatman Capital, were quite separately exposing Home REIT (HOME) which, as they predicted, has duly collapsed with both men utterly vindicated.
Boatman's previous triumphs include Babcock (B AB) where he exposed a useless management and massive financial weakness. Babcock harassed him and threatened him via the PR cocksuckers of the deadwood press but again he was 100% vindicated.
So wind forward to last year and the Yanks in Fraser's sights recruited Christopher Steele a former British spy now specialising in producing dodgy dossiers. His most famous was paid for by the campaign of crooked Hillary Clinton in 2016 but then presented by the FBI as impartial evidence of Russian collusion by Donald Trump. Only after the election did we discover who funded Steele and that the dossier was complete bollocks.
Steele's dossier on Fraser suggested that he visited Moscow a lot and was targeting Home REIT as it provided housing for ex servicemen so he was doing soi at the bidding of President Putin. Moreover Boatman had attacked Babcock because it serviced British nuclear submarines so he was also a Russian asset now working hand in glove with Fraser. They actually do not work together it is just that Home REIT was an open goal for loads of bears.
Who could be so stupid as to present this thesis? step forward Labour MP Liam Byrne who made the allegations using Parliamentary Privilege so there is no comeback though they are laughable.
But before we all laugh at dumb socialists too much, a new document turned up this week, a memo from the then Tory minister Penny Mordaunt noting Byrne's claims and suggesting that a colleague investigate.
I am not a Putin apologist but have suggested that Russia was always going to and is defeating Ukraine and that in some ways it was provoked, though not justifying the invasion. As a 100% vindicated, critic of both Babcock and Home REIT I am gutted not to be named too as a man working on the orders of Putin.
Seriously just how dumb are our MPs that they fall for this sort of patent nonsense?
