#BoycottStarbucks and its shares look like a good short too

By Tom Winnifrith | Sunday 22 October 2023

Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it (other than from ShareProphets). I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article.

Normally when you boycott a company because of some woke nonsense some folks say "but what about the poor workers." In the case of Starbucks it is not the company, although it has sinned on many an occasion, but on this occasion it is its workers who are revolting.

Accusing the Israelis of genocide after the October 7 pogrom is shocking. Saying Israel is an Apartheid state is just wrong. How many Jews are in the Hamas soccer side, in its parliament or its supreme court? Do I have to say more?

#BoycottStarbucks and as for its shares, I cannot see the inevitable consumer boycott doing wonders for its earnings can you? A PE of 33.5 does not allow that much room for disappointment.
