I fear that many readers will be too young and will not remember the Streets of San Francisco with Michael Douglas and Karl Malden. Please look it up on google, it was fabulous. But my reference is not to an era when cops could beat a confession out of a suspect rather than spend their working lives undergoing diversity training, but to one of my tips of the year, Big Sofa (BST).
