You should not smoke or vape, but that does not mean BATS shares are also an avoid
I look forward to the trading update from British American Tobacco (BATS) in about 10 days' time, but this morning I read that “the London-based tobacco company BAT has called for ‘more stringent’ regulations on vaping, including a licensing regime similar to alcohol and cigarettes”. What is going on?- By Chris Bailey |

Worthless Valereum: shares unsuspended and the new board comes out swinging for Richard Poulden
Oh dear. Oh dear. Do you remember when the brown envelope man Zak Mir and penny share promoter Dave Lenigas debated whether Valereum Blockchain (VLRM) shares were worth 100p or 200p as they ramped ahead of a placing? Valereum now, finally, admits that the reason it could not buy the joke Gibraltar Stock Exchange is that it could not raise enough cash to satisfy regulators at the GFSC. That deal is off, the shares are unsuspended and have fallen to just 2p and the new board is now going after former boss Richard Poulden- By Tom Winnifrith |

Trafalgar Property – On Death Row As FTSE Russell Pulls The Plug On Five Companies
AIM-listed (at least for now) Trafalgar Property (TRAF) sits on death row at the moment. Its shares were suspended 2nd October as it couldn’t produce accounts to 31 March 2023, there has been nothing from the company since –and even in the suspension announcement there was no indication of when the (again awful, one presumes) numbers might appear. On Friday, the FTSE Russell indexes announced it was being deleted from the AIM All-Share Index, along with four others.- By Nigel Somerville |

Is Rio Grand? Yes, if you look now for an Iron-Clad Ethical Miner with Deep Prospects
Hello Share Shiners. Recently, I suggested you might peek at Rio Tinto (RIO). It used to be Rio Tinto Zinc. After my commendation the share did shudder a bit, but common sense has returned and this mining giant is now running high. More to come too, I fancy.- By Malcolm Stacey |

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: when will small caps really rally? And, I'm afraid that the diabetes is again raging
I start on my diabetes. I should have acted earlier. But as i prepare for a Christmas of lettuce with all the trimmings washed down with mineral water, I am fighting back. Then it is onto UK small caps? When will they fight back? I name five that probably can't and for which it is a matter of when not if the Fat Lady arrives.- By Tom Winnifrith |
