Corero Network Security – “Significant Contract Wins”. Hmmm, what about the cash crunch ahoy?

Published 3 January 2018, 03:58

Corero Network Security (CNS) “is pleased to announce” combined customer orders “worth in excess of $400,000 for SmartWall products and related one-year support services”. What’s the detail and import of this?...

I might not be a Sanctuary Spa and St. Tropez sort of guy, but PZ Cussons shares are still a Buy for me

Published 15 April 2023, 08:45

I wrote earlier this year that I was going to buy some shares in the Carex, Childs Farm, Cussons Baby, Imperial Leather, Morning Fresh, Original Source, Premier, Sanctuary Spa and St. Tropez producer PZ Cussons (PZC). Judging by its third quarter update and the conference call I listened to on Thursday, it feels to me as if the FTSE 250 consumer company is making good progress.

LBG Media (LBG),the owner of LadBible, floated on the AIM Casino on 15 December last year. Its valuation just looks bonkers. With a hat tip to reader TB…

BREAKING: Reddit Conspiracy to "Fuck the London Stock Exchange" and make the con SYME London's GameStop!

Published 30 January 2021, 09:49

Shares in the outright con Supply@ME Capital (SYME) remain suspended on the London’s Stock Exchange despite its very belated posting of two missing sets of accounts. In my latest letter to the regulators at the FCA I explained why the shares should stay suspended until Supply’s lies in those two accounts are addressed. But here’s another reason, plotters on Reddit are aiming to attempt a mass buying of the shares on Monday, if they are unsuspended, to destroy, what they believe is a massive shorting conspiracy. They think Supply will be the UK’s GameStop, taking down evil hedgies and shorters.

Roland "Fatty" Cornish's Christmas Carol Part 2 - the ghost of Christmas Present

Published 24 December 2016, 08:48

Oh, perhaps I shall have another small slice of stilton and another glass of port said London's worst Nomad Roland "fatty" Cornish to himself, as he tried to bury the memories of his visit from the ghostly apparition who was even scruffier than Tom Winnifrith. Clearly not a scholar or a gentlemen he repeated to himself several times although whether this was a reference to the ghost or Winnifrith was unclear at this point. Fatty did not enjoy being haunted but, after just one more "small" slice of Stilton and a small port Fatty decided it was time for beddybyes and headed up stairs with his faithful, if flatulent, poodle Stuttard following on behind.

Aphria - a cannabis giant set to go to zero: the new Gabriel Grego dossier

Published 3 December 2018, 07:16

Gabriel Grego is the man who exposed Globo (GBO) as a fraud, Folli Follie as a fraud and his new target is Canadian cannabis giant Aphria - his clear view is that this multi billion dollar company is a zero. Gabriel is presenting in New York right now but we have his presentation and his dossier which is utterly devestating. This looks like free money as a short.

SHOCKER: Buy2LetCars.Com – another massive high yield investment accident regulated by the FCA waiting to happen?

Published 6 January 2021, 13:04

At what point will the Government and MPs wake up to how useless the FCA is? I first warned a leading figure, Sir George Young (now Lord Young), that it was asleep at the wheel – with regard to the £3 billion Quindell fraud – back in 2013. The complacent old fool assured his errant step-nephew and second cousin that the regulator knew what it was doing and I had no need to do anything more.  Of course it did not. Belatedly, MPs are waking up to the failings of the FCA with regard to London & Capital Finance but there have been a stream of other mini-bond disasters where I have issued explicit warnings over two years and the FCA has done BUGGER ALL to stop them from continuing to raise funds. Some have already gone tits up so losing vulnerable savers hundreds of millions of pounds. Others are car crashes in waiting. I am so angry at the FCA for letting down those who are most vulnerable.

Why gold could be about to drop: Part 1

Published 25 February 2014, 10:04

As gold marches higher, there is a growing sense of excitement that the good times are back. At the start of the year I made gold my Number 1 “Trading Theme for 2014”. Within two short months, this trade has rapidly surpassed my expectations, as the rally in gold got off to a flying start. So why have I just taken most of my money off the table?

Time for me to sell some of my Imperial Brands shareholding (and take some really good profits)

Published 15 November 2022, 11:40

Here we are with the year to the end of September full set of numbers from Imperial Brands (IMB). Last month I observed it was going to be a big moment for me as the company’s share price is kicking around my twenty quid target price. And all of this has been augmented by the company also paying an excellent dividend since I got super-excited about the stock about a couple of years ago. All kind of interesting for a lifelong non-smoker like me.

Do I dump my EasyJet shares, after it screwed me so badly as a customer?

Published 3 July 2022, 18:29

I haven't posted much these last few days - I've been abroad for the first time since January 2020. What excitement!  I'm sure a bunch of you have been to Gibraltar, though I had not.  I have two key tips.  If, unlike me, you are visiting to explore lower taxation and other matters, do not discuss it in front of others having their breakfast.  Second, you must ask yourself whether to fly with British Airways i.e. IAG (IAG) or EasyJet (EZJ). And - if you should prefer the former - whether or not you should hold EasyJet shares.

Is my Supply@ME Capital owning stalker Charlotte really a man?

Published 11 March 2021, 11:29

In yesterday’s bearcast, I relayed how I had been contacted by a Charlotte Daniels who I was convinced was trying to entrap me and whose phraseology strongly indicated the use of google translate. Two emails later, I wonder if Charlotte, a shareholder in the fraud Supply@ME Capital (SYME), is in fact a British male soccer yob. Here is the complete correspondence, judge for yourself:

Avanti Communications - tell us about the QSAT (now tits up) revenue you have booked

Published 20 May 2017, 03:10

Oh King of the bombasts, David Williams is there something you are not telling us about your crumbling POS business Avanti Communications (AVN). Yes... that £13.6 million deal with QSAT. You know the company that has just gone bust. This is all about revenue recognition you bombastic prick.

Xaar - do the analysts views mean a monkey's?

Published 25 March 2014, 06:56

In his weekly financial video postcard, Tom Winnifrith questioned the typical views of broker and research reports (see HERE) – and I have been reminded of this whilst reading some such reports on digital inkjet printing technology group Xaar plc (XAR). The following explains.

Amur Minerals: high risk but potentially very rewarding

Published 26 March 2014, 08:08

If  you are risk averse then Amur Minerals (AMC) definitely isn’t the share for you, but it could offer large rewards for anyone taking the gamble. On paper it is hard to see why, at 4.33p, it is trading at a market cap of just over £16 million, given the stage it is at in terms of exploiting its assets, and when compared to its peers.

Merlin Entertainments – is activism a new ride at Alton Towers?

Published 24 May 2019, 15:23

I have written about Merlin Entertainments (MERL) before, noting back in February that 'from a stock market perspective it is a hard share to love as it seems to need to pour in a lot of capex to keep relevant and this crimps the valuation you would pay. Risk-reward feels more exciting in the lower third of the aforementioned 300-400p range'. Well the lower end of that share price range was (again) the area the share bounced from earlier in the week when it was announced that the activist investor ValueAct was agitating for change…

Concepta – financial results need improvement, fertility clinic collaborations to help

Published 30 October 2019, 10:15

Concepta (CPT) has announced results for the first half of 2019 and a “first myLotus® UK Fertility Clinic collaboration”

Stay long, but watch what happens to gold next!

Published 10 April 2014, 13:36

Once again the MIDAS Method has provided another cracking low risk trading opportunity in gold. On April 1st, I wasn’t joking when I said that gold faced “a massive test at $1,289.9/oz”. So far, the yellow metal has passed this with flying colours and if you went long at the start of the month you are perfectly positioned to bank a small profit and have a free ride on further gains. But how likely is gold to continue its rally?

blinkx plc – Edelman critics continuing to play ‘the man’, as the PR machine struggles to play ‘the ball’?

Published 11 April 2014, 14:07

In a pathetic piece today, with no comment on the actual content of the work, The Telegraph’s City Diary claims “Ben Edelman left red-faced over taking cash to bash Blinkx”. Following his UK Investor Show presentation, the Harvard Business School associate professor has published some further analysis on Blinkx plc (BLNX), noting “my testing of Blinkx ex-Zango adware began in 2004 with unpaid writing on my web site, and has grown to include paid and unpaid work for advertisers, ad networks, publishers, investors, and regulators. However, none of these requested or funded this article or any portion of the research presented in this article”. The following looks at this latest article in conjunction with some blogging by Zango co-founder and former Chief Technology Officer, Ken Smith.

Today's Primary Bid Offer - Scientific Digital Imaging

Published 12 February 2019, 03:41

I know nothing whatsoever about Scientific Digital Imaging (SDI)  but apparently it designs and manufactures scientific products for use in applications including life sciences, healthcare, astronomy, consumer manufacturing and art conservation markets. But it is on the acquisition trail and so there is a Primary Bid offering.

The photos below show the two boxes of Slimbiome that arrived today at the Welsh Hovel and also one of the sachets, 21 of which sit in each box. I have used a standard loo roll in the pictures to give you an indication of size.
