Starcom – from 4 weeks ago “activity has remained at a high level” to...

A 25th March “Loans from Directors and Grant of Warrants” announcement from remote tracking technology company Starcom (STAR) included that there had “been some delay in the fulfilment of certain orders by the company as a result of international restrictions” but that it “has remained under pressure from customers to fulfil existing orders and continue supply of its products. Since the majority of the company's products are utilised in the movement of cargo rather than people, activity has remained at a high level”. Today an intra-day (12:11pm) “Trading Update”...

Fevertree's 2019 results prove to be a tonic...but what about the Covid-19 mixer?...

Three months ago I asked the question, Has Fevertree (FEVR) completely lost its fizz? – concluding that 'it might have a nice product but it is not yet a good enough GARP stock to buy without a belief in a speculative bid approach'. That looked a smart call with the share falling from fourteen quid and change back in January to a low point of barely nine quid a month ago. However it - along with a number of stocks and sectors across the market - has bounced back strong and after a romp today has pierced the fifteen quid level at the time of writing, albeit this is still half of the 52 week high and even further behind the all-time high...

Nostra Terra – deceiving investors with a misleading RNS yet again?

I am not sure how Nomad Strand Hanson managed to sign off on today’s misleading RNS from Nostra Terra (NTOG) but maybe we have all just come to expect that Matt Lofgran et al are just allowed to say whatever they wan t with no comeback. This is the AIM casino after all.

Will the Oil price rout be repeated (in reverse) in Gold? Time to get the beer in the fridge?

Peter Schiff puts an interesting question in his latest podcast here in relation to the rout of Oil futures this week: could it happen in reverse with gold? The action of the oil market this week has been terrifying. Or at least it should be, as a barometer of what is to come in the holed economy purportedly as a result of Coronavirus, although I would argue the issue is more of a giant everything bubble that was waiting for a pin. Well, the pin duly arrived and our very own Peter Brailey has covered himself in glory, correctly predicting negative oil prices. So what is Peter Schiff’s point?

Primark Sells Now't in the Lockdown, but the Crashed Shares in its owner could be an Opportunity

Hello, Share Sifters. Some bad news from Primark. Though it sold £650 million worth of stuff in the previous month, the company says it’s made nothing since. This is because this High Street set-up - one of Britain’s most popular clothing stores - doesn't have an online operation. A badly mauled share price has reflected this...

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Falanx you are talking complete & utter bollocks - I speak as a loyal shareholder

I start with an admission that I am a total git. The ShareProphets Shares Conference is on 9 May (Saturday) not 8th as I had suggested. I am a git. I apologise. Please book your tickets now HERE. Then I deal with Falanx (FLX), the bearded millionaire tosser Branson trying to have it both ways, Iconic (ICON), Catenae (CTEA), my pension fund where I am si grateful to James Hay for being so useless, negative oil prices and which companies other than Nostra Terra (NTOG) will go bust and the laughable ramp at Chesterfield Resources (CHF).

Centamin – Quarterly report and dividend update: one for Tom’s SIPP windfall?

For the benefit of Tom Winnifrith, who is considering fully listed Egyptian gold miner Centamin (CEY) as a possible investment for his SIPP windfall, the company offered an update on its quarterly performance to 31 March, the forthcoming dividend of 6 US cents and the effects of the Covid-19 virus so far……and the news was good.

Shares in self-styled “the global leader in sustainable LED lighting for industrial applications” Dialight (DIA), already down from around 250p when I previously wrote on in November, are currently a further circa 10% lower below 200p on the back of a trading update...

Malcolm was so correct back in mid-December about Halma...

I quite like the 'three brains' moniker bestowed upon me by the editor of this website, as an amusing caricature of reality. Naturally a huge slug of (ongoing) hard work, a bunch of insightful academic and commercial experiences over the last thirty plus years and the old standing on the shoulders (and thoughts) of true giants have materially contributed to anything I offer on these pages. Patently I still bog it up sufficiently to keep me on my toes but insufficiently to drive me into index fund-purchasing early retirement. And, naturally, I enjoy the 'game' element too. It is still nice to be right (sometimes). On a slightly boring regulatory news day, the thoughts of Halma (HLMA) capture my attention...

Covid-19 will be the pin that pops the car and student loan bubble

Another sub-prime lending crisis has been brewing in the US - and in terms of cars in the UK too -  in recent years, and it seems likely that Covid-19 will be the pin that finally pops the bubble.

Another letter to AIM Regulation re Bidstack - time to suspend the shares

The Oxymorons at AIM Regulation and hapless Nomad Mark Brady at SPARK have yet to reply to my letter of Saturday about Bidstack (BIDS), the almost bankrupt company led by Lyin' James Draper which, I believe, (again) deceived investors last Friday. so I have penned a follow up missive. Surely the time has come to suspend the shares. The letter is below.

The man who predicted minus prices for oil asks where to next? Lower the only option?...

I am enjoying my Ouzo with my cornflakes this morning, except I am not in reality. I do not delight in predicting negative oil prices a month ago and being proven correct. This only proves just how deep in the smelly stuff the world economy is in. For WTI (US mainland crude) to go negative to the extent it did yesterday was beyond my expectation at this early stage of the oil market re-balancing. I think this is pre-curser to wider issues on oil and oil product pricing and I am very worried about what this means...

Catenae - placing at 1p (77% discount). We told you so, and more equity issuance to come?...

Last Friday I called the announcement by AIM-listed Catenae Innovation (CTEA) that it was joining a consortium to track Covid data, an absurd spoof. The only questions were how partner fm2x had worked with fellow partner Z/Yen for over 25 years when it had only been in existence for 13 years and at what price the placing would be. Yesterday Tom Winnifrith was even more specific, naming the placing price and that there would be warrants attached in his Bearcast. By the time his dulcet tones transferred from recording to the internet, Catenae announced a placing. So much for not knowing how to play this Covid game!...

Hello, Share Tweakers. It’s with some unease that I suggest you take a look at today’s choice. That’s because Tom has said that he doesn't rate it. And only a fool disregards his astute analysis.
