Oh dear, oh dear. I remember being trolled online by Julian Pike of Farrer & Co, the Queen's lawyers, when Julie Meyer was his client. With Ms Lingerie on expenses having worked through at ,least three law firms since those heady days with at least one citing her inability to pay bills as a reason to quit, it seems as if the curse has struck again.
On 7 December The Times reported:
Lawyers chase Dragon Julie
Things aren’t going well for Julie Meyer. The American former Dragons’ Den star has been accused of failing to pay staff and misusing investors’ funds in the past two years.
Now Meyer, 53, who moved to Switzerland from Malta this year after a dispute over outstanding tax, is being pursued by her own law firm, Farrer & Co, for unpaid bills. When Prufrock inquires, she says: “It’s the first I’ve heard of this.”
Ends
Hmmmmm. So Julie will be settling up at once. The odd thing is that Ms Meyer parted company with Farrer & Co well over a year ago after its sterling work harassing the brave whistleblower John Galt.
I guess an awful lot of invoices and reminders must have got lost in the post over the past fourteen or fifteen months. Perhaps a reader can assist me: if one includes Maltese forms just how many lawyers has Juliie or Ariadne Capital (now in administration) left out of pocket?
