Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it (other than from ShareProphets). I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article.
I am bearish by nature, very cynical and get extremely grumpy about various activities on AIM, many of which appear to me simply to rip off the unsophisticated PI. And in my debut article here, that brings me to Corero (CNS).

BRITTA
Congratulations on the dullest debut article I’ve read in years.
Can I suggest (a) you develop your own personal style and stop trying to mimic Tom with phrases like “placing ahoy” and “bargepole”; (b) be briefer and more engagingly readable. I lost the will to live halfway through this turgid tome.

I’ve read two of them and agree with Britta with one addition- I don’t usually read Zak’s stuff, has he shagged your sister or something?
Cynical Bear
Thanks for the feedback – will work on it. Hope you managed to push on through the turgid financial analysis and reach the conclusion. To summarise – I think a placing’s coming.

Cynical Bear,
Agree with a lot you say about the general state of AIM, and especially the current craze for cash shells – lot seem to be looking at going down the fin-tech route, but for every one that succeeds in even a small way there will probably be 10 or more that don’t!
These days other than the odd punt (and one or two which i do like long term such as DIS) I pretty much avoid putting any money into AIM cos myself as most of the good rises seem to be on over-hyped junk!
I’m more bullish on CHAL which you also covered and recently covered it as a speculative buy, but a lot will depend on Jakarta coming through as expected. I also thought Starneth looked interesting and had potential. It is certainly one where i think it is still early days – but plenty on AIM have failed to perform for years.
Agreed much more though with your XTR piece and seems to be common with AIM resource stocks where they are over-hyped – often on what is in the ground rather than what they can actually get out of it! – and the time frames given are crazily over-optimistic in many cases.
I think these days a lot of people are playing all the hype though rather than really caring too much about the fundamentals – I’ve pointed various flaws out on companies on Twitter and the general response seems to be ‘who cares, ride the wave’. So no wonder so many PIs lose their money!
SMELLYOTTOM
Noticed from CNS’s blurb that they reckon for each DDoS the average outage time was 86 minutes costing 8000$ a minute (recent contracts have been around 700000$ – do the math and envisage the sales pitch) Fully agree a placing is on the way!
