Given that there is genocide against the alawites ( the tribe of assad) Id grant all of them asylum. But any syrian who came here seeking refuge from assad as he supported the other side surely has no right to remain now that the other side are in charge.And if you think the new guy is a menace to non alawite, christian, druze or kurd syrians (all of whom he is genociding), , i.e. to everyone why the hell is he welcomed to Downing st and showered with UK taxpayer cash?

Refugee questions are judged on an individual basis not on a group basis. It is entirely possible that a 'mainstream Syrian' (whatever the hell that means) might have a genuine asylum claim; equally an Alawite might not have a valid claim.
