San Leon Energy (SLE) was among the three companies presenting at the last ShareProphets seminar. The video of CEO Oisin Fanning – who faced one or two tough questions - can be found below.

This guy should hang his head in shame, the amount of cash he and his fellow directors have stuffed in their pockets over the years is criminal.
Tom I’m surprised you allow him to be associated with shareprophets.
Does he pay to present? No wonder you’ve never gone after him.

We ae open that companies pay to present. Otherwise there would be little sense in us handing oit free booze and pizza. we are not a charity.
But if you think fr a second that £800 gets you immunity? Have you seen our coverage of IQE (down to present on 8 Dec). Think again.

Cheers for that Tom.
It would be interesting to hear your views on SLE and OF as I am caught up in this dog and the whole Polish shale dream/nightmare. Glad OF came out and did the presentation though and mentioned his massive salary that will now be 80% taken in stock.
The lady at the end – where does her accent come from then? And who is this Mr Simon Cockwell she briefly mentioned?
Thanks

When I first met Mr Fanning I put it to him that his salary was high. I suggested to him that he should take it in stock. He said shareholders might not approve. I said put it to the AGM then. I have written about that before.
What is my view of SLE? I have not analysed it. As per weekend video postcard I am simply not interested in oil stocks right now. I think they are – at best – dead money. Steve & I are not tipping them on Nifty Fifty and have not done so for almost 2 years. There are plenty of other writers here who do cover oil stocks & given my training I should be interested but I cannot see the point right now. So no view other than that to some extent SLE is a cork on a wave and that wave is heading the wrong way for now.

PS. Here are the oil stocks I am interested in :) http://tomwinnifrith.com/articles/5560/picture-article-day-1-of-the-olive-harvest-at-the-greek-hovel

I too am interested in the olive harvest. Last year I made 65 litres from my hovel in the south of France. This year zilch because of the olive fly. Beware the olive fly & beware SLE where I have been invested for 3 yrs & have only a substancial loss to show. Look on the bright side though, the olive trees are attractive & will be there next year & probably in another 1000 years, not so Fanning.

Tom,
Appreciate you have to make a living. Must admit he’s got some brass neck turning up at one of your evenings.
I note your bearcast covering NEW, Fanning reign of failed deals, shareprice destruction, and director enrichment could draw parallels.
I also note your comments on the sector
Bobby Chariot
Thanks Tom
All the best with the olive harvest.
