Notes from Underground – Most read articles for the week ending October 10

The most read non-Tom article this week is The View From The Montana Log-Cabin As Gold Falls Again In Face Of Bond Rout by Nigel Somerville at number 18, or number 26 with Bearcasts.

Most Read

  1. EXPOSE: Avacta Placing – the truth behind Project Hawkeye

After hours yesterday Avacta (AVCT) announced that it had successfully raised £12.5 million at 68p. Up to a point. I have now seen communications from Zeus Capital with regard to what it termed “Project Hawkeye,” the culmination of a few weeks of frantic share ramping via RNS and research pumping the stock from the very same broker that would soon be doing a placing.

  2. To the man with Amaroq Derangement Syndrome: about that NED share sale

Poor DucknDive.  Being long and strong of Skinbiotherapeutics (SBTX) seems to have got to him and he now has a severe case of Amaroq (AMRQ) derangement syndrome, posting hostile comments relentlessly.  Last night it was announced in an RNS that NED  Graham Stewart had sold a third of his shares. PoorDucknDive had a major episode screaming:

  3. Kefi Gold & Copper – interims, risk/reward Strong Buy

Kefi Gold & Copper (KEFI) has issued its half-year 2026 results including that following a serious security incident at its Tulu Kapi gold project in Ethiopia “development activities were immediately suspended with a view to resumption in a carefully sequenced manner. Consultations with representatives of the local community and the Ethiopian and Oromia governments, and their respective agencies have reaffirmed support for the project and for the company’s careful approach to resuming development. Principal contractors, lenders and local investors also remain supportive”. So where now for the shares from 0.6p?

  4. What's the benefits bill where you live? Fascinating new tool from the TPA

You can find out HERE thanks to the Taxpayers Alliance. Where I live in Wrexham, £244 million will be handed out this year in benefits, that is an average of £2049 per person - up 16.2% since Labour came to power.

  5. Amaroq – adds to FTSE 250 news with production ahead of target, Buy

Amaroq (AMRQ) has noted its upcoming inclusion in the FTSE 250 index stating it “clearly validates our strategy of moving our listing from AIM to the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange and will open us up to inclusion in further index tracking funds and the commensurate impact on liquidity of indexation” in an announcement that also includes “achieving Q4 2026 production target one quarter early”. More good news although, as Tom pointed out here, the effect will only be c£12 million of tracker buying, 2% of the equity. But it all helps!

  6. Letter to Companies House, breaching section 1112 of the Companies Act carries a 2 year jail term

I have dropped it a note objecting to a possible strike off and also to investigate a possible breach of Section 1112 of the Companies Act 2006. It is, after all, a criminal offense to knowingly or recklessly file a document or statement with Companies House that is misleading, false, or deceptive with a potential jail term of up to two years and an unlimited fine. I write:

  7. MedPal AI – sales are vanity , cash is fact and so is a lack of it

Today Medpal AI (MPAL) reports another very strong update on revenue growth but… there is always a but when the Drummonds are involved.

  8. Ariana Resources – Dokwe project Feasibility Programme update follows interims, Buy

Ariana Resources (AAU) has issued a “Dokwe Project Feasibility Programme Update” following recent half-year results. What do these suggest for the valuation from a current 1.475p share price?

  9. It is almost as if the LSE is sitting on bad news about AIM

The London Stock Exchange (LSE), where I am a loyal shareholder, normally publishes data covering arrivals departures, funds raised etc on the AIM Casino by the 7th of the following month. But right now we await not only September data but also that from August.

  10. Win a bottle of champagne from Lucian Miers MMT contest

Modern Monetary Theory is clearly nonsense. It is not a theory it is an economic policy tested in Weimar and Zimbabwe and found wanting. But still gullible Guardian reading saps like Lucian Miers find themselves attracted. So Lucian poses a question for us all and the best answer wins a bottle of champagne sent by the Bard of the Boleyn.

The most-listened-to Bearcasts this week were:

  1. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast No 1: Amaroq day

After a few jokes about Liverpool's greatest numbers man since Ken Dodd it is all about Amaroq (AMRQ) day and what a great day it is for we loyal shareholders.

  2. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: a challenge for Bexley YC's 57 year old chairman, the Quantum scandal and Amaroq for the FTSE 250 this week?

I start with the welfare calculator from the TPA and numbers that are stunning us all but also look at Covid bounce back loan fraud. That brings me to the economic flatulence of Kemi's Tories and why its tax pledges play so badly in places like Wrexham, a must win seat. That is my challenge for Evil Banksta and his YC chums. Then it is Amaroq (AMRQ), Kendrick (KEN), the Quantum Blockchain (QBT) scandal and Petra Diamonds (PDL). PS Do enter Lucian's prize contest HERE

  3. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: its commercial madness but I will not be silenced about October 7th and what has followed

It may cost me money as has my expression of horror about what happened on October 7th before. But I cannot and will not stay silent. I stand with the Jews. Tomorrow bearcast will return to the world of shares but not today.

  4. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: As YOUR hard earned cash is being used to punt on an AI ramp, I look at the whacky accounts of FN Advisory

En passant I mention Eco Buildings (ECOB) and Georgina Energy (GEX) but this is really all about Vaultz Capital (VT3C) and the really whacky world of FN Advisory and YOUR taxpayer cash.

  5. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast No 2: It's October 7 tomorrow and Britain sickens me again & why there is no Kenmare read across

I start with the 3rd year anniversary of October 7 and how some folks are marking it and why the Police are useless in not responding. Then it is Petra Diamonds (PDL), utter bollocks from morally bankrupt advisors like PR wanker Christian Taylor Wilkinson in a 'fess up from Quantum Blockchain (QBT) after my GOTCHA yesterday and finally a long look at Kenmare (KMR) and the bid from Andy Burnham's pals in Abu Dhabi.

  6. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Evil Banksta vs John the tax Dodger

I start with the debate between two great conservative thinkers. Then it is why BuriedTreasure is so naive with regard to Bluebird Mining (BMV), why folks should see through Hamak (HAMA) and its jackanory RNS and finally Amaroq (AMRQ) and blonde Swedish nurses.

  7. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: what are you doing next Thursday Evening?

I shall be watching series 14 of Blue Bloods but there is an alternative on offer. From that I move to my letter to Companies House today, why I warm to the lunatic DucknDive who made me laugh today,  and then to Petra Diamonds (PDL).

  8. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Kefi, Nigel Wray, Swanny & Delta

I discuss Kefi Gold & Copper (KEFI) and Delta Gold (DTG) where Jonathan Swann faces a Nigel Wray dilemma. I have a qyestion for Swanny and wonder if he has an honest answer.
