After my recent interview with Chariot Oil & Gas (CHAR) CEO Larry Bottomley, I predicted the company wouldn’t relinquish its Central Blocks licence, offshore Namibia. Although I wasn’t far off the mark in this, what I didn’t anticipate was that Chariot would renegotiate the terms of the licence and remove the requirement for an exploratory drill in the next phase.

Its been a tough ride. However the CNE Senegal discovery shows that Mauritania has value (same geo play just up the road). Namibia will have three drills next year (Mulunga of Namcor). And morocco is hot. I agree there is everything to play for. The bears have had their fun (and the trolls!)

@Charioteer – this has been a painful one for shareholders over the last 6 weeks, but I agree with you and stand by my overriding call. It will take time, but this company’s strategy looks like it has positioned itself to benefit from at least one major oil discovery. I accept it is too early really to be confident about drill results, but the approach of this management team appears streets ahead of most of its peers on AIM
