Hello Share Swingers: I live next door to a block of holiday flats. I'm amazed by the number of empty bottles they put out for recycling. Only two or three families knock back enough wine to fill the cellars of a big restaurant, as far as I can see.

I believe booze companies face strong demographic headwinds.
An increasing proportion of European youths are Muslims since Muslims get more children than non-Muslims. As a matter of fact, fertility of native Europeans is below replacement level for quite some time already. Therefore, I can only see the amount of alcohol consumers go down (despite European population rising). Also note fertility is below replacement level in China and Russia. For this reason, I am staying away from alcohol related shares. Cigarettes are a different story though :).
