Hello Share Riders: I have a few shares at the moment which are not doing that well. I should have sold them after a 10% drop on the purchase price. That's my usual rule.

‘I should have sold them after a 10% drop on the purchase price. That’s my usual rule.’
That’s what many small hedge funds play on to mercilessly ‘mine’ the long only leveraged PI’s frequenting the Aim and Small Cap sector.
And is why 95% of PI’s who are leveraged short term equity traders lose money over the longer term.
Many small hedge funds have always considered PI’s as sheep for the fleecing – the introduction of leveraged products has simply brought an extra sophistication to the sheering process.

yes i followed tom’s tip here, not the best piece of business, but some you win some you lose! i wish tom would be more honest on his tips that tank!! we always ready about the winners, how much ahead they are, but i don’t see much coverage of the losers! come on tom, lets here your comment on this falling knife. how did you get this one so wrong? like you Malcolm, i think holding on to the bitter end is probably the right decision, as you know with penny shares, as soon as you sell, they fly!!!

This was not a good tip.
There is an ex director with a large stake who has just sold and sold. Fundamentals unch but this bloke has singlehandedly crashed the share price.
Unlike BB morons I fess up that i have posted bad tips.we all do in penny shares. I tipped SID which went bust.
I look at my average record. Is that not unfair?

NB We told hot stock rockets readers to get out at 24.5p. £5 a month well spent

Thanks for your comments, gang: a lot of sense there. We have to accept that the story changes all the time in Shareland. Tips which seem dead right at the time can be overtaken by events. Sadly I am rather slow at dumping failures.

Tom, this is such a terrible nightmare for me and my investing friends. As I told you a long time ago now, I followed your NXS tip with several hundred thousand pounds. I am still holding even after my holding has been decimated and almost mortally maimed. I topped up a bit when EIT was moving upward through 15p. In the hope that just maybe,at long last things would really improve. Then along came a profit warning and dumping by an agrieved Director/partner. Do you honestly think they can survive through this and even (dare I say) grow into a successful profitable concern with critical mass exceeded so that shareholders can eventually make some worthwhile money?

I instigated the change of management and RTO. I am in no doubt that had that not happened NXS would have been toast.
The ex director dumping does not effect the business just the sp. When he is out finally, Im in no doubt they will recover from here. But right now he is a clear drag on the share price. His selling alone has halved it. He is behaving terribly
