Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it (other than from ShareProphets). I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article.
Judging by his stout financial backing for Plethora Solutions (PLE), it is probably fair to say that Jim Mellon feels there is an urgent need to find a cure for premature ejaculation. If the market reaction to today’s pump of an RNS is anything to go by, it seems that a lot of private investors agree. The buying frenzy that has happened since Plethora announced its latest ramp leaves me wondering, will people ever learn?

A veritable plethora of reasons not to buy then .
Pushing it away with my middle sized barge pole for now .

Perhaps do some more research next time. Loads of things missed here. The cost of developing a product like this and timescales would leave you 65m quid and 3+ years lighter. The current market cap doesn’t even reflect costs to get to this stage. The company’s approved treatment has exclusivity rights across Europe (US approval underway) and the market size in Europe, the US and across the rest of the world is many times bigger than that of Viagra (as its much more of a common condition).
The company’s channel strategy to sell via prescription and the large clinical trials that show product superiority against competitors is more than enough to secure relevant marketing and manufacturing partners on favourable terms.
More research and balance in future articles please!

Ahead of the herd, I know nothing about PLE and tbh have no intention to (it’s in a sector I generally avoid), but I echo your sentiment that shareprophets ought to offer more balanced views having seen how they were with BMN.
In this instance I’m referring to they clearly didn’t research BMN properly at all when they advised readers to sell. A fact they admitted to in their follow up article a few weeks later saying is they got it totally wrong and it was in fact a ‘Buy’ – they just hadn’t done the research before!!!
Shocking really!

Thank you for the response
Had I written this piece last year and you used those arguments, when the SP and market cap were both substantially lower, I’d agree.
If you bought last year, as I say in the piece, then congratulations and I hope you have taken a lot of profit.
Today though @11p and £45million, all of what you mention is priced in and then some.
You didn’t comment on my estimates concerning the company’s cash position.
Last November Plethora said “The timing of the availability of product will drive eventual launch dates ranging from mid to late 2014. “
I haven’t read anything since, which has changed this goal.
As with any of these companies, the cash position is going to have a huge influence and if my estimates are right, then I stand by my call.
Please do correct my estimates though if you think I am mistaken. You seem to know a lot about the company, so that would be helpful.
@Libero, nothing to do with BMN, not a company I have commented on, but thank you anyway

On BMN ( whose CEO I am about to cook breakfast for) James wrote one piece and changed not the facts he stated merely his view on the Share Price. We are all allowed to change our mind are we not?
Shareprophets does not have a view on any stock… we merely give free platform to writers who do.
as for PLE Ben’s point is that there is a cash call looming. I agree with his maths.
Incidentally the idea that a product is WORTH what it costs to develop is bollocks. It is worth the NPV of the cash it generates and as with any biotech that is uncertain.
So how about an apology from those who got their FACTS about Shareprophets wrong?

When pfizer step in with a milestne payment you will be eating your words . You also neglect to mention that the estimate cost of product has been stated at c 20 % of rrp. So on $1 billion sales thre would be 800 million gross profit id suggest ample to pay ple and every tom dick and harry…..and dont forget thecrestbof the world!

Cheap cure for premature ejaculation used by a very famous american porn star on set ( I am not kidding ) “its simple …….. just think of a pile of freshly laid steaming dog poo “ “it calms things right down “
“no need for any meds “
why would people buy it when they have “free” imaginary steaming dog poo at their disposal ?!?

@Tim
Tell you what, if that happens before a placement, I will write a glowing piece on PLE and put my hands firmly in the air and admit to all how badly wrong I got this.
If it doesn’t, perhaps you’d be good enough to come back and explain why taking RNS statements as Gospel isn’t such a good idea.
@wildrides – charming…

SP writers can write what they want here. Neither I or the editor (Ben, who has no history with Mellon) can change the conclusion of an article.
Our writers choose what they write about and draw their own conclusion at the end. It is liberty hall.
As it happens if you check the logs you will see that the site has run 2 BUY articles on PLE and 1 sceptical one.
For what it is worth we ( in fact I) also tipped Mellon’s PEBI vehicle and I have also tipped Interquest in which Mellon has a material stake.
Whatever one feels about the man when it comes to stock analysis I try to be impartial. One must look forward not back, don’t you think?
As such I am afraid that you are talking complete & utter bollocks. Time for an apology?
Tom
PS Ben was bearish at 12p. The shares are now 10.5p. So far his PLE call is the best of the 3 on the site.
