Hello Share Tusslers. We've had a few good days on the Stock Market. Nothing to get excited about, though, as the old shares have done so badly of late, that the rally hasn’t made much difference. So far.

Malcolm,
You naughty man! You forgot to mention the recent purchase of ‘Peter Brotherhood’. Not as might be supposed a secretive sect, but a maker of middling sized steam turbines, with a 11.5 freehold site in Peterbourough. They say it will be a ‘transformational’ acquisition (what CEO does not say this!) He may be right, but they have taken on substantial debt to buy it. And, lets face it, steam turbines seem Sooo last year’s technology.

Hi Jasper. The reason I didn’t mention it is that space is a bit limited – and, as you suggested in your post – the outcome of this take-over is inconclusive. It might improve profits, it might not. I usually only include stuff to help people make up their minds. But it’s an interesting point about steam power.

Au contraire Jasper
Just because Steam Powered sounds victorian, remember, every power station in the world (coal fired, oil, gas, nuclear) has a steam turbine at its heart.
Even some of the new fangled renewables (solar towers, geo thermal) include steam turbines.

Thank-you both, Malcolm and Xanderbelle,
My steam comment was supposed to be a post-modernist bit of irony. Obviously it failed!
I realise that Peter Brotherhood supply steam turbines to the Royal Navy for their subs, and they are not far off cutting edge.
