Tom,
I know that you follow guys like Eric Sprott, Rick Rule, Doug Casey, Mike Maloney et al, they have put forward a good case that before the PM market picks up there will be a significant deflationary period which we have not yet experienced, we are on the cusp of this period. During this time the $USD Index and US Treasuries will surge higher and paper assets in particular will deflate, including PM’s. The paper price of Gold could trade to $700 an oz, but the physical price may well remain over $1000. It is also interesting to note that for every ounce of Gold traded on the Comex there are currently 293 claims. Are the Comex vaults nearly empty? What will happen when a number of players ask for their Gold to be delivered and they are told that they will have to settle in cash?
The rate rise next month, if it goes ahead, may be short lived just to save face. What’s equally likely are negative interest rates and more QE following this deflationary pop…

I have been a shareholder of POG for a couple of years, and so when some months ago the rights issue at 5p was announced, I initially subscribed to take up my full entitlement. However, I then read your diatribe against Peter Hambro, and your description of POG as a stock which should not be considered for investment. Having had great respect for your opinions to that point, I cancelled my orders and allowed the rights to lapse.
Are you now suggesting that the shares are a buy at 5.64p? If so, what has changed your opinion between March of this year and the point at which you considered POG no longer a “barge pole”?.

A DXY now over 100 is unlikely to be good for Gold short term. However, this may result in the Fed bottling out of the December rate rise (Gold Positive in my view), or watering a rise down with so much language along the lines of “Hey Guys, we are data dependent so it will be a long time before we tighten further”, that it may be Gold Positive. Possibly it causes so much chaos in Emerging Markets that Gold ends up rising alongside the USD as a safe haven asset. We’ll just have to wait and see. The only thing I feel certain of is any Fed rate increase will be ephemeral in nature and they are unlikely to follow through with further increases next year precisely because of the strength of the USD and the deflationary forces this has already unleashed upon the World Economy (crashing oil price anybody?). If the USD bull run continues into 2016, I feel it’s a matter of time before the Fed go for further stimulus; likely to be on a scale that dwarfs anything that’s been done so far.

Why is nobody asking WHY Nuna/GMM would buy Worthington and how will they get past the bogus and lack of accounts issue? Would the Greenland goverment be pleased with them spending tens millions on a company like Worthington just so the directors and co can get a payday?
Lots of questions to be asked, none of which are mentioned on any bulletin boards.
