   Is there a Nobel prize for law enforcement?

   A few facts:

   1. To get an IP address or any other details from a bulletin board you need a court order. Has Jabba really been wasting what little shareholders’ money that is left in REM getting all those court orders. It is true that all BBs record the IP address used, so even though they are quite happy to give you an account based on any fake e-mail and other details you provide they will have the IP used to make each post.

   2. If you post using your home computer with a normal ISP and have not paid extra to have a fixed IP, then the IP that will be recorded is the general IP of your ISP and not the temporary IP address that you ISP provides to you and changes whenever it feels like it – this can change on an hourly basis at times without you knowing and indeed for the most part you need not care. If you want to get a different IP at any particular time just reset your router and your IP will change. If you post from work on your work system then the IP will definitely be traceable to your work and depending on how your work IT department set up their subnets it may go right to your work computer. If it does not then your work IT department would not have any trouble working out which computer was used.

   3. People who try to scare posters with crap about having IP addresses are complete dick heads and should be exposed as such.

   4. REM shows all the same traits as any other Lenigas confetti issuing machine.

   5. Lithium is not a Rare Earth Metal. The whole Rare Earth story was mostly hype and REM was set up to exploit that hype and basically failed, when as a shitty little AIM investment company it could not get any credible investments in a space that is the sole preserve of the big boys. There is a lot of hype in the Lithium story too, however REM has most certainly successfully exploited that hype……. so far.

   Honestly held opinion based on facts.

   I too expect another REM confetti issue in the not too distant future. I do not see why REM will be any different in final outcome to all the other Lenigas confetti issuing machines.

   Disclosure: I made good money out of shorting REM when it was failing in its attempt to exploit Rare Earth hype, as it was so obvious. I have held no position in REM, long or short, since well before it started on the Lithium hype. I did contact the Nomad back in 2012 when false information was reported in a REM annual report, the report was corrected a few days later.

   Another interesting fact about IPs. If you want to further disguise your IP, you can set up a Virtual Private Network. It is free, but they will bug you with adverts and do everything possible to annoy you into signing up for the paid service.

   Being abroad I could not get ITV player to watch the Rugby World Cup on my IPad, so I got a VPN and moved my IPad back to UK and hey presto I can download the ITV (and BBC, if I wanted to but did not) app and watched the less interesting games on the small screen. I did have to suffer England’s dismal performance on a larger screen though. I went to the “Irish” bar to watch Ireland get taken apart by Argentina and watched the South Africa Japan game on a massive screen in the company of 90% South Africans including some former South African players who had predicted South Africa winning the World Cup before the game started – what a joy it was rise to my feet and cheer with the other 10% as that final Japanese try went over in extra time!

   To clarify my last post I went to the “Irish bar” to support Ireland, who I thought had the best chance of doing the “home” nations proud. I was fully prepared to pay the £6 a pint for the draught Magners they usually serve, but all they had was the local filthy lager. I supported Wales too against South Africa, but in a more private setting as I was resigned to the inevitable outcome of that and watched Scotland Australia with some Ozzies and gave them a hard time for robbing a very brave and valiant Scotland, like the convict descendants they are.

   Why is it English people are happy to support the “home” nations against the rest of the world and the other “home” nations think it is good to support anyone against England? Could it be the same fucked up thinking that makes British and French Nationals kill their own “countrymen” because of some perverted and twisted belief in what the Koran does not actually say?

   Like any good Englishman I was delighted to see France comprehensively taken apart by the All Blacks, but my sympathies are with the French over the Paris attacks. They won’t pussy foot around as we are already seeing.

   The sad death of Jonah Lomu comes as a real wake up call – he was 7 years younger than me! Live life to the full while you have it, as you never know how much you are going to get. Do what you believe is right, but be respectful of others’ beliefs and you will have no regrets.

   Being an IT engineer for 20 yrs….even if Jabba had IP addresses…..WTF would he do with them……you have to be half decent in IT to convert that number into a physical/digital location of source…..and Jabba won’t know how to……he’s too busy twitting all day anyway…….one thing I’ve seen on chatboards an awful lot is folk talking about IP addresses………ooohh those digital gurus
