Hello Share Stalkers. You may have gathered that I favour investing in the big British banks. My main reason is that they were great once, with yummy share values - and that even if we get half way back to the days of glory, our purchases now will be quids in later on.

Yeah but its Banking …………………..Wankers Bankers.
Their job is to find new and inventive ways to get fined for misconduct ,not to enhance share value or divi value.

On a serious note ………..here is why I think your hopefulness regarding banks and their recovering to former share price glory is deeply flawed :-
The banks were at the height of banking profits from PPI mis selling and all the other scams when the sp was last high . Since then casino banking has ceased , china walls put in place , high earning risky bits sold off , capital ratios increased etc etc . There is just not the scope for profits and growth to rise to those levels again .
