The Jackdaw “lemming” fledgling is back safely in the nest and its mother has returned to feed it ………success ……… saved from months of hand rearing and teaching it Toms swear word vocabulary ……… phew , thats a relief . Funny thing is the mother bird came and inspected it several times whilst it was on the ground but did not feed it at all . Infact it looked like it might predate it . The fledgling crawled under a plant and stayed quiet as though it knew it was in danger . However as soon as it was back in the nest normal mothering instinct took over and both parents resumed bringing the fledgling tasty morsels ……… quite odd nature .
