I am 100% sure that the reason Slater & Gordon boought Quindell (QPP) is because the Oz firm is going ex growth. It overpaid in order to justify its own ludicrous valuation. Now if you need evidence of what a total pup it bought, a source close to Zebra has contacted me at the hovel.

Great news!
Was going to close my short this morning, but decided that I would wait to see what the next publicity stunt was going to be from them, and glad I didn’t now.
You could have a competition to try and guess the directorspeak in the next report justifying the low court case/success rate!
Carry on reporting.

Has Slater & Gordon actually paid up yet? I never thought this deal would actually go through. Also, with regards to those 100 or so wins, what’s the average settlement figure? Quindell was ‘hoping’ for £9K apiece?

NIHL is 9% of expected FY June 2016 ebitda for SGH AU. Do the mathematics.

We’re seeing a successful repudiation rate of 80% in defending industrial deafness cases (across the industry as a whole, not just S&J or QPP firms). Most of those that are presented are fundamentally flawed.

Tom, you write that you are 100% sure, but you are 100% wrong as usual. And ‘Defendant Lawyer’ may I suggest that you know your opponent! it is S&G, not S&J.
Tom, do not believe all that the bitter and twisted compeitors of S&G tell you, is my advice. Also, you should learn to let these obsessions go.
Because you may have made a bit shorting QPP, do not expect to repeat the trick with S&G.

NIHL cases take around 18 months to 2 years to settle so one would expect only a 100 or so by now.
The real question is how many have been lost or discontinued, and how many have been issued.
Defendant Lawyer is right inthat @ 80% of these cases fail in general but many are pursued by lawyers poorly qualified in this type of work
