   The heart of the problem is that politicians are irrelevant. They desperately seek to make themselves relevant by scaring us with issues like global warming and global terrorism. The reality of both issues is that less interference by politicians would have greater effect.

   None of them have the guts to deal with the real issues. I enjoyed your alternative budget, there was something in that to upset and offend just about everyone, but overall it was a balanced package that might have some beneficial effects over the status quo we will get.

   I enjoyed your Farage podcast too. They are the BNP wrapping themselves in a populist anti Europe banner. I had a young man knock on my door asking if I would sign his form to stand as a local councillor. He was not asking me to actually vote for him, just to sign his form so he could stand. I asked him what he was standing for. Had it been for some well meaning, but pointless cause I would have signed as that is the democratic process, I would have been happy with some sort of joke party. But he said he was standing for UKIP. What is the point of UKIP in local elections? I gave him the same answer that I would have given if he had said he was standing for BNP or one of the other fascist parties – I told him to “fuck off” and closed the door. The sad irony is that UKIP will probably draw most of their support from the Tories and thereby let some coalition of pro euro loonies in.

   Back to what is the relevance of politicians today. The sad fact is that democracy is the worst system going – apart from all the others. Therefore we have to go through this charade every few years and we should make the effort to vote for the party that we believe is the least worst alternative.

   Agree with most of what you say, yes they the politic’os and their media ocrity mouth pieces, hav’nt a fucking clue.
   I despair, and fear for what is to come, the British public I am sorry to say has a responsibility in this also, most are existential, and have been fucked in the head by being institutionalised by one form or another, been kept in psycological servitude, of deference to a class system, tradition, an over bearing sense of nationhood in different perverted forms, rampent nepotism is never to far away, along with cronyism and fraud/bullshit.
   I could go on, foreign policy/hypocracy etc, etc, what we need is a root and branch change of the way we do democracy and capitalism, can we begin to be the masters of our own destiny, or mearly carrying on being our own victims.??????????.
   Cameron has seriously been let off the hook, and continually PR spins the non achievements of dodgy Daves coalition.
   Ed will continue to have his identity crisis, as will his party.
   Farage is consistent, crapppppppppppppp.
   Happy Easter, I’m bored now.

   Don’t vote! Seriously. That old, hackneyed protestation that all who are eligible to vote should do so because – erm – people died that they might be able to is pure drivel. That they might have died for this is of no consequence whatsoever. NO CONSEQUENCE WHATSOEVER! All voting does is validate the power of those who are elected. It’s like the despicable blackmail tactic employed by some moronic parents to coerce their offspring into finishing meals of making them aware that there are children starving in Africa. It’s absolutely terrible that there are children starving in Africa, but the situation is not going to be affected by whether a child thousands of miles away eats his or her greens. Just as those who died to give us the vote are not going to be resurrected if everyone uses it. DON’T VOTE! Do something else instead.

   I’ve had the pleasure of three election candidates knocking so far ~ the constituency has a huge Conservative majority but MP has retired ~ I didn’t tell any of them to f*** off as I was brought up with manners :)

   I’ll vote UKIP. UKIP are by no means a polished, finished package but at least they’re prepared to say and consider the unthinkable and quite frankly after decades of Lib-Lab-Con driving the economy/country into the dirt I’m all for change. I absolutely refute the allegation that UKIP are racist ~ no-one I know who intends to back them has any issue with the colour of someones skin or nationality, they do have an issue with the UK absorbing 300k a year and being part of the un-democratic EU. If you have no meaningful democracy, when rules are made elsewhere what’s the point in voting for Westminster at all?

   If I had 5 demands of MPs that would be met they’d probably be:

   1) Exit EU
   2) Enforce balanced or surplus budgets with deficits (more debt) only allowed with massive majority in house for extreme reasons ~ ie recovery from a natural or human disaster
   3) Put Britain first in all policy areas, plan for the long term benefit of the country and its people
   4) Close all tax loopholes & tax breaks including offsets for multi-nationals and limit all out-of-work benefits for fit & able adults to be 12-24mths max.
   5) Scrap Trident ~ I’d prefer stronger conventional forces and quite frankly the ability to throw back a couple of dozen nukes wouldn’t save the UK in any case

   Labour gets my vote . Winnifroth will be out in Greece anyhow , so what does he care . Shame he does not apply the same standards to Greece and recommend they pay back their loans, or at least the loan interest at just 3% of Greek GDP ( thats lower than the French have to pay by the way )
   Labour will build lots of “stuff” ……. schools , hospitals , roads, housing …….. that creates jobs ………… those people spend their wages down the mart ……….. labour tax em ……….. they build more roads , schools and hospitals ……..rinse , repeat ………….. whats not to like . Oh and a pizza house super tax , must not forget that .
   The pensions one is easy …………… scrap the state pension . Everyone must have a private pension started by the age of 25 . To pay off the current pension “pink rinse” hole ……….. scrap the national lottery and have a state pension fund restoration lottery . Sorted .
   I should have been a politician ………….. its so easy . Malcolm for chancellor , Gary for PM , lad you gooey for forward budgets – Treasury dept. Finally , me in charge of expenses ( I need a new floating duck house ) We can lock Tom in the Tower for treason .
   p/s
   I actually need a 3 acre lake, with 40ft timed display ornamental fountain, for the duck house aforementioned to reside on ………….. but I am sure we can slip that through cant we . Now wheres Lad you gooey got too ……….
