Trinity Exploration and Production (TRIN) has looked undervalued for a long time, but that could soon be about to change. The AIM-listed, Trinidad-based oil and gas company had previously looked cheap compared to its peers even when oil was at much higher prices, and since crude tumbled late last year it has been hit harder than others in the region.

Agree, I’ve loaded up on Trin, the risk/reward @ 20.14 is well worth it. I think these are a buy up to 25p on forthcoming news. On not holding my breath on Government tax rebate, I see that as a bonus, if and when it arrives! Strong Buy.

Your havin a larrph Gary …………… have you been in that Churchill suit too long ? ……….. it must be very hot in there . Their not drilling any new wells in 2015 at all , zilch , zero .
LGO are drilling eight brand spanking new ones and have an army of followers to help the price rise accordingly . Trinity’s sole object for 2015 is to minimise the fall in production ………. that sounds like a plan (?!) not .Sounds like a ramp to help spurt your own lobster pot to me ;-)

Wildrides,
I’ve no problem buying into a producer with over 3000boepd and a market cap of just £20 million, especially with several pieces of news due. There are also very few shares in issue here so should move quickly on any good news.
As for ramping – I was holding prior to the recent spike to 24p and didn’t sell because i bought for news, and I also held back from covering the company here until the price had pulled back again to a level where i see better risk reward.
Just out of interest – if you don’t think circa 3400boepd production in Trinidad warrants a market cap of more than £20 million, I’m a bit surprised that you think that LGO is such great value currently (I know we’ve disagreed on that one previously).
I see very limited downside from this level on TRIN barring any unexpected bad news. But that’s just my personal view of course.
Oil man
How about we wait and see what LGO’s depletion rates are and then decide how well the share price does. Trinity is a much much better investment. Proper company with no PR spinning management like LGO.

You have convinced me Gary ………… on mature reflection ( OK , OK just reflection then ) I have stuck it on my “close eye on” list. If only the oil price would stop falling again .

Wildrides,
I just think that anyone who sees Trinidad as good place to invest in oil and gas, should at least have a look at Trinity given what it is already producing – of course we all know that depletion is a problem in this part of the world and in the past has been the downfall of companies like SOCA Petroleum who couldn’t ramp up production faster than it depleted.
I do actually agree with you to some extent about LGO as there is a lot more hype and PI interest with that one, which at times does drive the share price forwards more than its peers. I’m just not convinced that taking a longer term view that is necessarily a good basis for buying into a company and holding – obviously it makes it a good one to trade at times (which I think you’ve mentioned you’ve been doing successfully with that one).
Oil Man,
I will be interested to see what LGO’s production is at the next update as has gone very quiet recently after having seemingly been very keen to update on flow rates regularly when they were high after coming online initially.I know i got a lot of abuse on the LGO boards for my last piece on them as over-priced and a sell at 3.5p, and even DL rubbished it – but I’d bet production has fallen since then, plus of course we had the fundraising (which many said wouldn’t happen – pretty sure DL also said on Twitter that there wouldn’t be further dilution).
I also like the fact that the BOD of Trinity have a decent track record and also have a fair few quid in the company themselves.
