Thanks for that reminder, good advise as ever, interesting that you were involved with Roger Cook, of the Cook Report, was an avid viewer of it back in the day, and he was fearless in less informed times, good to know.

I do generally prefer ITV to BBC news coverage, even having to endure advertisements, and I’m not just saying that. Thing is, as I think Jeremy Clarkson once pointed out, psychologically I think we all tend almost automatically to opt for BBC reportage whenever something big breaks, giving it an unfair advantage. This business of having newsreaders stroll about almost as if they’re about to serenade the viewer I find beyond annoying, and I think it was the BBC wot started it all. Just stay put behind your desk and read your bleedin’ lines! Perhaps the producers never caught The Day Today. Rant over (just don’t get me started on Oscar wannabe Fiona Bruce, even if she is a very nice lady personally)!

Thanks for your kind words, Turbers., Working with Roger Cook was great training for getting a feel for what companies are worth investing in and which ones are dodgy, Spaggers, I agree with you that BBC news is not what it was. I suspect they may have been frightened away by the establishment and just prefer to be safe these days.

ITV has been a fantastic share over the past couple of years. Well done to all who got in back then. Going forward, I’m not so sure there is much left in the tank. The share is looking pricey, and I don’t think ITV have many options to up their game further. Downton Abbey has been the star performer, and has attracted many to advertise at prime time, for a prime price. But all good things come to an end, and sadly, I think that is true for ITV. Buy low sell high! Take profits, there are better plays going forward.
