One of the reasons the regulators aren’t interested in regulating pensions and investments is that their own pensions are defined benefit with notional investment and not subject to performance of the market .
As for the miscreants who are raiding poor peoples pensions , how despicable must these people be ?

Surely then & subsequent Directors of Worthington must have been aware that the £250,000 paid to Worthington in Aug 2011 by Aiden Earley in apparent repayment of a previous loan was sourced originally from Jerome Pension funds,especially if they also acted as trustees of the fund.
In particular it would seem from the emails that Doug Ware in particular was aware of Aiden Earley’s dire financial circumstances at the time and that this loan repayment could only have come from Jerome funds.
Surely upon becoming fully aware of the situation on assuming office at Worthington.Ware should have repaid the monies Worthington obtained from Aiden Earley to its seemingly rightful owners the Jerome Pension fund and advised Earley that his debt of £250,000 was still outstanding to Worthington.
Ware on behalf of Worthington has always insisted that the £3m loan transaction between Jerome and Whyte/Holmes/Rangers companies never actually completed and that the funds were always held in escrow by solicitor on behalf of Jerome,so how could Earley have “earned” commission on the transaction.This £250,000 that has come into the hands of Worthington,surely is not the property of Worthington.
If not I trust at least Ware has made the Pension regulator and other authorities aware of the circumstances regarding what appears this partial recovery of Jerome Pension funds which he would have discovered on assuming office.
Obviously if Aiden Earley claims he earned this sum correctly,no doubt he will have declared this profit to HMRC in his tax return for 2011/2012.Between £70 & £100,000 been due.

Great post – Doug is such a paragon of virtue, with having his salary and directors’ warrants granted to an entity that he has no beneficial interest in, that of course he immediately told the pensions regulator…er, no!
