Tom, what you write is ethical and much needed. How you write is refreshing and aggressive. But its little surprise you and shareprophets get the reaction you do because you are exposing the shite in the markets. Invariably you will be making the markets a safer and more honest place for punters to invest. It has to be said that you are one of the pioneers in this field.
It seems that the ones you hurt the most are the ones who only want a fast return on their money and have no care how this is achieved or what damage the companies they invest in do along the way, just so long as they make money, money money.
I dare say that you’d get more support from persons of my persuasion rather than your own.

When you look at there list of exhibits and speakers at the UK Investor Show then you should hold your head up high and be proud. Sometimes I cringe at your language but it is your site and I have found you mostly to be proven correct.
Here is a thought Tom. Why not copy many of the insulting, abusive and disgusting language the bulletin board users of LSE.co.uk use.. and send them to their advertisers!
Maybe that would be one way for LSE to finally take serious their responsibilities to remove the lunatics from the asylum.

i wrote articles and online thread commentary for Capital Spreads for years. Often against massive abuse as you can imagine.
And yet I never stooped to bad or abusive language. What you do might be correct (or occasionally wrong) but you will never get taken seriously whilst you gratuitously insult people.
You should get into the habit of writing what you would like to say (X!X!X) then cross it all out and write what you should say.

I am not quite so sure that I will “never get taken seriously” because of my style, I think the “ot giving a shit” approach forces people to take me very seriously but maybe I am wrong

Good work Tom, but your “tone of voice” is sometimes far too abrasive, and if you poke someone enough they are bound to react irrespective of who’s right. So that’s maybe what you wanted, although it’s exploding in your face with death threats etc.
There will be a way to keep your message but not attract the wrong type of attention. I’m a Marketer and I’d happily give you advice on how to get your message across without being boorish.

There is not really anybody else out there doing the proper investigative journalism that you do, on UK small caps.
As such, I think this site should probably be a subscription site, as good investigative journalism has to be paid for by somebody. I would happily pay a fee to read this site.
As you know, I don’t like the swearing & sometimes hysterical/uncouth tone of some of your articles. It’s unnecessary, and devalues the quality content that you are providing. You’re handing opponents the weapons they need to hit you with! If you swear & make horrible remarks like “drinking warm Ebola”, then it’s easy for people to dismiss you as a loonie. When in fact you’re providing fantastic research, partially devalued by the coarse tone.
Anyway, it’s your call on how you write articles, I’m just giving my view.
I’ve set up a small monthly STO for you, to reflect the fact that I would happily pay a regular subscription for the unique & valuable material you are providing here – exposing bad companies & bad management, so I can steer clear of them (or short them!). I’ve certainly saved money by listening to the articles here, and am fine with you publishing negative material on companies I own.
We don’t always agree on companies, but I’m always happy to listen carefully to your views on any company. Hearing the bear case is something all bull should do, and the bears are usually right in my experience.

However I phrase it if I accuse folks of lying and fraud I am a) telling the truth b) going to get a reaction. If you want to nail crooks you have to persist. So I am bound to get a hostile reaction from some folks. I think the phrase “its exploding in your face with death threats etc” is unfortuanate. There can be no excuse for death threats etc. So I either dont accuse or I accept that some folks will behave in that way. It is the latter.
Thanks for the offer of changing the way I approach it but I have been going after crooks on AIM since it started. Its my style and I am not stopping now.

I am too set in my ways tochange now, I feel relaxed about how I write and will just live with the consequences. You & I now that Etihad would have been persuaded to drop the ads by the jihadists even if I had called AMI and QPP down to 0p using the sort of language that Momma Theresa would have approved of.

It trivualises what you do to make the bad language presentation an argument, I was watching the BBC 2 TV programne last night on our glorious disfunctional House of Commomns, all about tradition, protocol, presentation, jobs worths, it was gut wrenchingly bad, all very proper, but all so wrong, backward,hopeless.

Luke Johnson agreed to speak at UKI precisely because he supports us and admires our work on Quindell.

My Uncle Chris has always been a tom;e model for me as a brave campaigning journalist. We have never been closer than in the past year or so.
The support we have received from numerous good honest AIM CEOs and FDs has been truly astonishing and touching. They want the system cleaned up and are thankful that we are taking the lead. They are on our side and I receive daily messages of support from them.
The jihadists tried to drive my restaurant out of business with mammoth smear campaigns and harassment. But our customers love our service and we have never been in a better position than now. As you and the other deniers or apologists for deniers are going to find with ShareProphets, as we step up our activities, the same is true here.
And if you do not like that hard message, those hard facts you do not have to read us – see if I give a FF.

Let’s face it, whilst people do read the reviews on TA no-one really cares that much and it would be far cooler to be rank bottom than some where middling. If you become famous for being bottom people will realise that the reviews are fake including the ones that currently discredit you.

I think what you are trying to do in exposing the problems with Aim is commendable but I have an old fashioned way of looking at things and the way you put across your articles is totally counter productive. I cannot see the reason for the amount of swearing and vilification of people. If you just put across the facts, which I really enjoy, then I think you would get a lot more support and not give your detractors an additional rather large stick to beat you with.
I think a number of contributors have already pointed this out to you and I can only add my not particularly significant voice.
As you say you have every right to free speech but when you are just shooting yourself in the foot I suggest you adjust your aim!!!
Please keep up the good work, which is sorely needed, but in a more reasoned way.

You have alienated a fairly decent sized chunk of the investing community with your abrasive, insulting and often abusive posts – And now you are requesting ‘donations’ from that same community – I can’t see it happening. Your words have helped dent the savings of thousands of private investors – I think they would rather see you close down than help you.
And when the whole QPP affair dies down (however it ends) you can enjoy watching your visitor numbers dwindle to the size they were before you got on the gotham train.

I accept that a portion of the investment community do not like me. I have not destroyed the value of the shares they held in QPP, CUP, BLNC, MONI, SER, RRL, GKP, VIY, GLOBO, IOF, MPOW, OUT, etc, etc. I warned them and they chose to ignore me. Net result they have lost money becuase they invested in frauds or over ramped rubbish.
But they blame me. They respond with nasty BB posts, smears on Tripadvisor, attempts to stop us geting advertising, attempts to blackmail Clem at ADVFN into stopping working with us, threats to speakers at UK Investor, death threats, etc , etc. And I fight back by being abrasive and calling these clowns out as morons. For that is what they are. They are morons for failing to accept that they should have heeded my warnings ( a year ahead of Gotham on QPP incidentally) and morons for the smears and lies and death threats etc.
Most investors are not morons just like most CEOs on AIM are honest. And those folks support what we try to do here in cleaning up the casino. Ask yourself how many AIM CEOs will stand up publicly and endorse the smears on Tripadvisor etc? I suspect not even Rob Fielding would do that. How many stand up and are happy to be associated with our work? Vast numbers.
The majority of the investment community is on our side which is why they will support this website against the tyrannical free speech denying moron minority.
What will traffic be like when Quenron goes tits up and I am vindicated 100%? I have no idea. As it happens I appear now to have evidence that another BB darling is a 100% fraud so that will help as I once again go into battle against the moron community. And oddly enough this place is now whistleblower central. I get more leads on wrongdoing on the AIM casino than I have time to handle – that is the issue that I am trying to address as to how I take what is the UK’s fastest growing editorial content financial website (something achieved purely on word of mouth) up another notch. I need to expand the investigations team. And with the support of our readers I shall do just that.

From what I sit back and observe on here, and other sites, it is not always us vs them. Many of us are non shareholders or just read the sites for knowledge and entertainment inter-twined. Richard made a valid point re TW language and general lack of professionalism in his tone, perception etc – which I think is valid. Then ZN is on his back. Why would any firm, regulatory body, investor, former colleague want to be associated with anyone who facilitates the destruction of value like Share Prophets has the potential to do (as you admit higher up) and openly gives well known shorter’s a platform to ply their trade and destroy value.

… I have no gripe against Tom, yes I am a QPP shareholder, and I see what Tom has done as more of an opportunity for me to invest in a company which I think will survive and hopefully do well – that is just my stance, it might be right or wrong.
I do find Tom entertaining, especially the hitler video clips, but many others don’t and are upset and blame TW for their losses – my losses are down to me making bad judgement decisions and not having the experience to get in later down the line. Tom, you haven’t helped things at all however with your, what seems like, vendetta against RT and his goons. I do think it is disgusting that RT has seemingly got away with insider trading (Cenkos resignation) and lied regarding his plans to invest the money he got from his share sales back into QPP to support the share price, and he does deserve a smack in the mush – more than Tom even ;)
Zero, I’m not a cry baby by any means, and fortunately I have invested only using cash and not spreadbet so I can hang on until the QPP turns around (if it ever does – I’m not debating that). And if it doesn’t then more fool me for not getting out at 130 a couple of weeks ago with a small loss.

TW alter-ego? No – never met Tom and never will as different part of the country. OK, not a cry baby but we have so many QPP shareholders on here never answering the questions and just moaning. I’ve lost money on Wasabi, 100% wipeout, buying based on what the chairman said and its MY fault. Who gets blamed for share price performance by bb morons? Tom and Gotham. Yet their advice was to sell when it was way higher.
Steamy, K3, QPP1000, Robbajob, Quindell Echo have constantly ramped and said be “long and strong”. Yet following their advice would have lost you most of your money. Yet the bb morons go after the people who told you to get out, thus you would have had more money now. Explain that logic. And who gets all the recommendations on the BBs? The people who have cost people a fortune.
Quindell is a pure trading stock at the moment and God knows what going to be left as the new team seem to have been brought in to flog the various businesses. Can’t see it ever reaching 600p again. You might be lucky to get 150p.
