Sensitivity to Britain’s Jews: a fail for Tesco PLC, a gold medal for Tesco Wrexham

During the past two years I have fought, and eventually won, a battle to get Tesco (TSCO) in Wrexham to take seriously the way that Israeli houmous was plastered with offensive stickers or had pork products placed among it. In the end the manager forced all staff – some of whom had initially shown me outright hostility – to undergo training and the matter was addressed.  Then last week I showed HERE how Tesco had itself placed the houmous right next to pork products. What happened next was instructive.

Photo Article: Tesco Wrexham gaslights Jews – is this corporate policy?

For a couple of years I have battled with staff at Tesco (TSCO) in Wrexham over the way that Israeli products, notably the Sabra Houmous pots, were attacked by Palestinian supporters/Jew haters. Stickers accusing Israel of genocide, etc, etc would be placed on the pots and pork products placed among them. Initially staff either ignored me or in some cases ridiculed me. For all too many, hate crimes against Jews just do not matter.

TSCO

Well done Tesco, a new hate crime emerges

It was many many months ago that I first started complaining to staff at Tesco (TSCO) Wrexham about the way that the Israeli houmous it stocked was attacked. There would be stickers from supporters of a Palestinian state stuck to the packs or pork products hidden among the pots. My complaints were met with indifference and, in one case, with outright hostility from a purple haired monster who considered that I was the problem for reporting a hate crime, not the crime itself. Maybe she does not like Jews.

It still remains so much smarter to own Tesco shares than UK Government bonds in your pension fund

Just under four months ago, I observed about Tesco (TSCO) shares that “despite them currently remaining in the 260-270p range, owning Tesco shares remains so much more attractive than boring old government bonds”. And that looks to remain the case at many levels, especially as even the yield-only focused investors will surely prefer getting their above 4% yield from the UK’s largest supermarket, rather than the country’s government. As for the investment world, what general insights is Tesco providing to the average equity market punter?

Thank you NigelThe US poor jobs numbers in conjunction with the previous 2 months numbers being revised down suggests that we have reached the top of the interest rate cycle. Gold does usually go up over the Christmas period which is promising too. I’m hopeful!!

13th in the best buy table with NESF down 2.1p. Though I would point out the 5.99p dividend paid so far this year with a further 1p to 2p to come from the final dividend. The buy table has some tough numbers. As a Kefi holder I hope to see it climb the table. Though maybe it will be the best buy for next year.

Wow, the guy can certainly talk! Most impressive, the way he really knew his subject, no rifling through notes, umm-ing or ahh-ing.I bought into Uranium Royalty a couple of years back. I'm ahead but not massively but should do well if his predictions are anywhere near correct.
