Anybody who suggests they can predict whether a commodity or security is going to go up 10% before it goes down 10% (or vice versa) just by looking at past trends is lying. If you could predict future moves from past moves all chartists would be billionaires. The fact is the only people who make money from charting are those selling strategies and books.
I scoffed at gold falling to 3000 dollars maybe I was wrong. It’s difficult to see gold going on an impulse surge any time soon. After the mid terms Trump could well send the oil price up sharply meaning gold could fall rapidly. However I am not personally going to try and outsmart the market.
An interesting theory I've read is that gold is suffering as the market falls in the short term as the leveraged plays are getting margined out so need to pay that down. The big boys like China are buying sub £4k very very heavily.
I agree with those comments, I met Pete at Sharestock and he came across as very knowledgeable and honest. At the end of the day he has a living to earn, and in his position I wouldn't have turned down the money either, and I would have made an genuine attempt to the best of my abilities at creating shareholder value, as I'm sure Pete will.I'm disappointed in Craig Howie, not Pete Brailey, who I hope will try and hold him to account.
Where were these “ expert noises “ when gold was over 5000 dollars an ounce.I see that Jim Rickards of gold will be 10000 dollars an ounce by the end of 2026 fame is now saying it could go to 3600 with Jordan also pointing to that figure.Technical analysis always seems to follow after the move …
No plagiarism Seadoc. Things have moved on at pace this week so an update was very much required.I now have a position so won't comment further on the company while that is open.I choose not to comment on anything I have a position in. Call me an old puritan but I see that as market abuse, especially when not declared. I was taught market ethics when there still were some on London, and strong self-regulation would lead to a public shunning for anyone pissing in the well we all had to drink from. Then Big Bang. We all stopped looking eachother in the eye and hid behind our screens. 30 years of light touch regulation later and... here we are.
