Energy projects services and consultancy group Wood (WG.) has issued a “FY24 Trading Update” announcement with CEO Ken Gilmartin concluding, “confident the fundamentals of this company remain strong - we are in growing markets, with considerable in-demand engineering skills, trusted client relationships, and we're well positioned to grow the business”. So what about a current around 40p share price in response, approaching 40% down?!
As global stock markets slid, Sidara announced “in light of rising geopolitical risks and financial market uncertainty at this time, Sidara does not intend to make a firm offer for Wood” (WG.). So where does this now leave Wood Group?
Wood Group (WG.) has announced that “having now weighed all relevant factors including, in particular, feedback received from Wood shareholders, the board has decided to engage with Sidara to determine if a firm offer can be made on the same financial terms as the Final Proposal”. That proposal was at 230p per share. We re-recommended the shares at a 156.7p offer price in August last year.
On re-recommending shares in energy and related services business Wood Group (WG.) in August last year at a 156.7p offer price we considered there upside to 200p+ from trading recovery fundamentals and possibly more from possible offer interest after prior such interest. The group has now confirmed there’s again been possible cash offers for it.
