Rain delayed play on the olive harvest but is now back underway again but without me for this afternoon as I have business to attend to in Kalamata and you, my dear listeners, to satisfy with the revelation of a NEW China AIM stock capitalised at £88 million which shouts out red flag. I also comment on Forbidden Technology, Tyratech and growth stocks that stumble, on Ortac Resources, Beacon Hill Resources and raise a few points about the fraud souffle that is Quindell

Hi Tom, You’re starting to turn me into a bit of a grizzly bear, especially in the current market!!
Probably a silly question, but what platform do you use for shorting these smaller cap companies? I’m on IG (spreadbet + CFD) and they don’t have JSI listed. Additionally, they rarely let you short smaller caps (or sometimes even those with a couple hundred £m) as ‘stock is unborrowable? How would you go about shorting JSI for example?
Thanks in advance!

I thought ACHL was a good buy for a while. It has been dual-listed on Hong Kong for years now and paid dividends from 2006-20013. Corporate governance seemed pretty good for a long time, although this was thrown into uncertainty with the resignation of the long-standing Chief Exec. At least in this case, the cash balance is almost certainly real. But when will shareholders get to experience the benefit of this, if ever? And is their Hepu plantation worth anything at all? On balance, the company is worth something, but with serious issues. One to avoid for most, one to punt on for a few.
