Notes from Underground – Most read articles for the week ending April 26

By Darren Atwater | Sunday 27 April 2025

The most popular articles last week were the second half of the Easter Week tips.  In a shocking development, the most read non-Tom article was not by Nigel Somerville, breaking a six month long streak, but by Steve Moore: at Number 3 or Number 9 including bearcasts  Celebrus Technologies – “accounting policy” changes… just as it loses reselling software business from ‘a large on-premises customer’!

The Easter Week tips (second week):

  1. Four Easter Buys to double by Christmas & 4 shorts to halve (or more) by the year end - No 5 a BUY from Steve Moore
This is a series of eight detailed share tips for the Easter weekend. No 5 is a BUY from Steve Moore

  2. Four Easter Buys to double by Christmas & 4 shorts to halve (or more) by the year end - No 6 a BUY from Gary Newman
This is a series of eight detailed share tips for the Easter weekend. No 6 is a BUY from Gary Newman.

  3. Four Easter Buys to double by Christmas & 4 shorts to halve (or more) by the year end - No 7 a SELL from Steve Moore
This is a series of eight detailed share tips for the Easter weekend. No 7 is a SELL from Steve Moore

  4. Four Easter Buys to double by Christmas & 4 shorts to halve (or more) by the year end - No 8 is a SELL from Tom Winnifrith
This is a series of eight detailed share tips for the Easter weekend. No 8 is a SELL from Tom Winnifrith

The most-read ShareProphets articles this week were:

  1. Technology Minerals: More confetti, no prospectus, no news on Recyclus EIS or its overdue annual report – - just let the dog be shot
Why cannot the FCA force Technology Minerals (TM1) to ‘fess up to the awful truth, suspend the shares, call in the administrators and put this dog out of its misery? Instead, at all levels, the farce goes on.

  2. Letter to AIM Regulation: Celadon statement needed
I have written to the Oxymorons at AIM Regulation regarding Celadon (CEL). Surely a statement and a share suspension is needed

  3. Celebrus Technologies – “accounting policy” changes… just as it loses reselling software business from ‘a large on-premises customer’!
Shares in ‘data solutions’ company Celebrus Technologies (CLBS) were previously a HotStockRockets tip on which gains were banked at 232p in January last year as they reached target levels. The shares most recently closed at 210p and are currently at 170p on the back of today a “Trading update & accounting policy”-titled announcement. So what’s going on here?

  4. Nuburu – the ramp continues & a CV possibly penned by Rachel from Customer Services
When Alessandro Zamboni’s reign at Nuburu (US:BURU) started on 13 January 2025 the shares were $0.5. They are now $0.16. Yesterday, Nuburu issued its latest ramptastic announcement. It is all so much bollocks.

  5. Valereum - £19m investment deal collapses but something looks very wrong here, I assume ASQE Regulation on the case
Actually I do not. AQSE Regulation has shown over its failure to deal with the prospectus fraudsters still running Eight Capital Partners (ECP) that they are just as useless as the Oxymorons at AIM regulation. I bet both are pretty hot on sniffing out directors who might have made a sexist or transphobic remark but in terms of stopping white collar crime? Forget it.

  6. Chill Brands: Swanny averages down again, still no accounts
The dog is still eating the auditors homework so we still do not have audited accounts for the year to March 31 2024 from Chill Brands (CHLL) let alone the following interims. But progress is being made and thanks to Jonathan “kiss of death” Swann it looks as if Chill can hoodwink the auditors that it is a going concern and so we should have numbers out in May. That is the good news.

  7. Readers tips of the year prize contest No 2, Easter Version
I realise that I am yet to send out the 2023 and 2024 readers tips of the year prizes. But two bottles of Greek Hovel Olive oil (January 2025 harvest) have now been poured and I aim to send them this week. Meanwhile, after the Trump market upset our writers are penning 8 new tips of the year (Easter to December 31) so why should readers not have another contest. As ever the prize here is Greek Hovel olive oil.

  8. Skinbiotherapeutics shares sharply up on Croda 2+2 =27 speculation but who is selling?
Croda (CRDA) has a trading statement out today and the Skinbiotherapeutics (SBTX) obsessives are looking at how revenues from consumer care leapt by £18 million, Quarter on Quarter, to £255 million in Q1 2025. Natch they speculate as to how much of this is Skins related, bearing in mind that Skins would get a double digit margin on whatever is sold. I reckon the answer is “norra lot” but such speculation has pushed the shares up to 25.5p. Now here is my guess for the next RNS!

  9. Skinbiotherapeutics: Manprick gone and other boardroom changes, more shares bought
Folks like the Lemming thought that Skinbiotherapeutics (SBTX) FD Manprick Randhawa was the bees knees and were jolly cross with me for rebranding him for his patent incompetence. In my view he was useless, unable to communicate with serious investors or to stop Stuart Ashman abusing the word accretive and, at least, partially responsible for the cack handed and dilutive financing of two acquisitions. He was unable to control costs. Well, today, he has gone to pursue other business interests. Great news.. It has prompted me to buy more shares, increasing my holding by 25%.

  10. EXPOSE: Argentex Group: a £50m AIM disaster, shareholders should brace themselves for near wipeout & auditor Deloitte needs investigating
The fall from grace of money broker Argentex (AGFX) has been spectacular, even by AIM casino standards. Okay it blames Donald Trump for crashing the dollar and folks like champagne socialists Brian Basham and Gary Newman who, poor men, are suffering from extreme TrumpDerangementSyndrome will swallow that line. But after today’s latest bombshell should you? I suggest not and that there should be a full enquiry into the recent audit sign off from Deloitte.

The most-listened-to Bearcasts this week were:

    1. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: an apology to an old stockbroker while a young one and I are are baffled, can you assist?
In today's podcast I look at Croda (CRDA) and Skinbiotherapeutics (SBTX), V22, Avacta (AVCT), the biggest threat to your wealth and it is not what Gary Newman et al are foaming at the mouth about, at Cleantech Lithium (CTL) and the disgrace at Anexo (ANX)

    2. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: a nest of Australians and selling one of my bigger gold holdings
I start with gold and my big four holdings: Ariana (AAU), Amaroq (AMRQ), Anglo Gold Ashanti (US:AU.) and the one I don't write about. I have sold one and explain my thinking. I also look at Oracle (ORCP), Wishbone (WSBN), ITM Power (ITM) and Avacta (AVCT)

    3. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast No 1: It's more about the weak dollar than strong gold
I comment on the £50m AIM Company Argentex (AGFX) shares in which were suspended today. It blames Donald Trump and it is the weak dollar rather than strong gold that is the real story today. I mention a few companies on the gold theme, notably Greatland (GGP) and Ariana (AAU).

    4. Tom Winnifrith Bonus Bearcast: 2 dire warnings about the UK stockmarket & a great idea for Rachel Reeves to save it & get more tax in
I chatted at length to a well known fund manager last night. On the basis of that I explain why, ceteris paribus, there will be more low ball cash bids and make two predictions of doom. On the other hand I have an idea for Rachel from Customer Services which would bring her more tax and cause the market to roof it so making her the hero of the day.

    5. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: so Nigel where would you put your Amaroq winnings you spiv?
I start on Easter and Easter messages, then another run in with the free speech deniers at Linkedin. Then onto gold shares, notably Anglo Gold Ashanti (US:AU), Amaroq (AMRQ), Golden Prospect (GPM) and Ariana (AAU)

    6. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Blur vs Oasis in 2025 and Alan Miller's first marital misfortune, my escapeI
look back to the era of Britpop as I look at the Optibiotix (OPTI) vs Skinbiotherapeutics (SBTX) split among you HERE. Then it is TekCapital (TEK), Microsalt (SALT), First Class Metals (FCM) and Eco Buildings (ECOB)

    7. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast No 1: 4 blue chips shorts and a macro take from the Dark Destroyer Matt Earl
I had a long chat this morning with Matt and three of the shorts are UK names one is listed in Germany. Enjoy.

    8. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Frankenstein Leather & BSF Enterprise share price madness
I start with a couple more Matt Earl observations on being an AIM NED and the issue of AIM costs and the sad end of Mirada PLC. Then it is Supply@ME Capital (FRAUD), BSF Enterprise (BSFA), Wishbone Gold (WSBN), Enteq (NTQ), Versarien (VRS) and Celadon (CEL)

    9. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Britain's Buffet v3 wrongly says I am a communist as history is made here in Wrexham
I start and end with the football. Not West Ham which is the worst side ever not to be relegated from the Premiership but Wrexham AFC, Up The Town! Then it is tax, ISAs and UK PLC. Finally the Government's new plans for housing asylum seekers - is that a great investment opportunity for you and me?
