Iomart – “pleased to announce… CFO Appointment”, is it of a magician?

Describing itself as “one of the UK’s leading providers of secure cloud managed services”, Iomart Group (IOM) states that it “is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew (Matt) Waymark as Chief Financial Officer” and “is confident that his experience and financial leadership will be a significant asset as we continue to execute our strategy and deliver value for shareholders”. Hmmm, what about that with the shares even over the last year down from above 22p to currently around 14p?

Iomart – “Directorate Change and Trading Update”, how’s the prior “clear plan” to reduce debt leverage now?

Most recently on cloud technology services group Iomart (IOM), in November with the shares further down to 25p I questioned how much confidence to have in its “clear plan” to reduce debt leverage and concluded to still avoid/sell. What of now a “Directorate Change and Trading Update” announcement and the shares currently further down at around 17p?

Iomart – interims, how much confidence to have in its “clear plan” to reduce debt leverage?

The ‘cloud services’ group iomart (IOM) has announced results for its half-year ended 30th September 2025 and “ongoing positive order bookings, reduced churn within the self-managed infrastructure segment and the achievement of £4 million in annualised cost reductions. Further efficiency savings are being progressed as well as new focussed sales initiatives”. So what of the shares, already down from above 90p a year ago, currently more than 3% further down to 25p?

Iomart – “H1 Trading Update”, how’s results ‘reinforcing the board’s confidence’ going now?…

Most recently writing on ‘cloud services’ group Iomart (IOM), in July with the shares falling to around 25p I questioned its results stating “continue to validate the group’s strategic direction and reinforce the board’s confidence”. What about now an “H1 Trading Update” and the shares at 23p, though that up 6.5% on the back of the trading update?

Iomart – results stating “continue to validate the group’s strategic direction and reinforce the board’s confidence”. Er, do they?!…

The cloud managed services group iomart (IOM) has announced results for its year ended 31st March 2025 including noting an adjusted pre-tax profit of £6.5 million and “actions taken to deliver annualised cost savings of around £4m, with the benefits becoming visible in H2 FY2026… the market dynamics around the IT cloud landscape continue to validate the group’s strategic direction and reinforce the board’s confidence in iomart’s ability to grow and develop”. So with a market cap already of only just above £32 million, what about a current more than 12% further share price fall to around 25p?

Iomart Group (IOM) has announced that “Lucy Dimes will be stepping down as Chief Executive Officer and leaving the company… The board would like to thank Lucy for all her work in helping to reposition iomart’s business to more fully address the opportunities in the Public and Private Cloud and Security markets”. Hmmm, what about this including with that the appointment as CEO was only in September 2023 and shares in the group currently just over 5% down at 27.7p in response?

iomart – “Trading update”, it’s not ‘financial results which demonstrate the resilience of the group’ now!…

Writing on “cloud managed services” group iomart (IOM) last year, with the shares down to 136p I questioned its argued results demonstrating the “resilience” of the group. The shares most recently closed at 59.4p and what about now a “Trading update” seeing the shares currently a further around 20% lower?

Data centres and cloud services group iomart (IOM) has issued a trading update commencing that it “expects to deliver a solid set of full-year financial results which demonstrate the resilience of the group” and emphasising “a solid platform for enhanced revenue growth over the medium term, from extended product solutions, focused sales and marketing activity and complementary M&A”. So why are the shares currently a bit further down to 136p and from above 156p early this year?

What is happening at iomart?

Have you ever looked at iomart (IOM)? I am sure that many of you would think that a ‘Scottish information technology and cloud computing company which provides managed services from data centres and offices across the United Kingdom’, would be in a great industry for the 2020s.  However it is facing a few challenges out there as Friday’s 17% share price fall showed (and hello a 44% year-to-date decline).  So what is going on?
