Gold closed the week at $2049, marginally up on last week’s $2045 but essentially still hovering above the $2,000 mark, but below its former all-time high at $2070. It had been gently easing lower last week, but Friday’s US producer price data combined with strikes on the Houthis pushed the yellow stuff north again to peak yesterday at $2062.
