It arrived last night: The sort of charming email I get from trolls almost every week of the year
By Tom Winnifrith | Saturday 8 July 2023
Normally I do nothing other than delete such emails and try to forget about such unpleasant harassment but the one below which arrived last night is so vile that it is now with the North Wales Police. After a number of incidents in recent years the local fuzz understand that some of the crooks I expose or shareholders in frauds I expose react by trying to threaten me or just harass me.
But I guess this chap will not be making a booking. His (it is invariably men who behave in this way) email reads:
Do i get friends and family rates as i am going to be banging your mum in every room of the house?
Your future father in law.
What a nice chap. When you rile such imbeciles into acting in this appalling way, you kind of know that something you’ve written this week must have been bang on the money.
The first fraud I exposed was some shitty biotech company trying – and after my efforts failing – to get a market listing in 1993. Although incidents like this are a bit upsetting the idea that after 30 years of getting such abuse, that I will be deterred is just fantasy.
But this sort of abuse is, I hope we can all agree, not acceptable. It is something that the law should address.
