When should the management of Airtel Africa call me (so my pension fund buys their shares)?

By Chris Bailey of Financial Orbit | Friday 12 May 2023

Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it (other than from ShareProphets). I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article.

Due to the twelve interest rate hikes now by the Bank of England since 15 December 2021, I guess Andrew Bailey has become a little bit more famous (certainly compared to his time as the Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Conduct Authority). It has also meant that about as frequently as the rate rises undertaken by the BoE, I have been asked if I am related to him, seemingly purely on the basis that (1) we have the same surname and; (2) I also ramble on about economics and related matters sometimes.
