Thank you Santa for this early present. Aussie poltroons Slater & Gordon (SGH) have issued another profits warning with its UK businesses, notably those bought from Quenron (QPP), blamed. Bankruptcy in 2016 now looks a slam dunk cert.

Whilst you are obviously right to bask in the glory of a prediction coming true, and many people agreed with your conclusion when the SGH deal was confirmed, I think it’s very poor form to be gloating over other people’s losses in the way that you are here. (I have never held either stock)
If this is the best you wished for for Xmas, I genuinely symapthise with you!
And clearly your spirit of Christmas is totally absent for you to be making such comments.
You produce some really good research, and have been correct many times recently, benefiting those that listen, yet you continue to spoil it with such poorly thought out comments and spite.
I trust you have a nicer Xmas than that you wish on others!

No it’s all good to be gloating. If it wasn’t for these Aussie idiots, Quenron would be in administration and Terry would be in Jail already. They bought a worthless business for half a billion quid. I do not know why, but can’t imagine it’s for the prestige associated with the name.
They were up to something. That something was not ship shape and above board. therefore they deserve their just desserts. Faired Income Mate, strewth, lets put some share warrants on the barbie!

I’m in full agreement with Dom here. These aussie bell-ends deserve everything that’s coming to them for robbing us all of the sight of all the QPPSAG’ers getting wiped out this time last year as all the judgements would have been coming on top for QPP. As it happened they were bailed out by S&G, but now S&G seem to have just horse traded themselves into QPP’s position of last year here :-

I seem to recall TW referring to it as ‘passing the parcel of pain’. Bang on the money, some of the BBM dimwits would take heed to listen carefully to what TW says. More gloating from TW for my twopenneth please !!

SGH owes its banks around AU$700M. No assets. Just WIP. Negative cash-flow. So if banks liquidate they get nothing. Can’t see capital raising or loan to equity conversion or distressed debt sale to private equity. No-one will touch it with a shitty stick in its present state. So SGH weakness is its only leverage with its banks. More likely banks will force radical cost-cutting restructure on SGH and try to let it trade out of its current cash-flow problems before pulling the plug. Only chance for banks get any money back. So SP not heading for zero, not yet, but close to it (currently about 56c down from about 90c before Xmas).
