Like many things to do with the FCA, not sure how much reliance can be placed on the data contained in their daily short positions spreadsheet. Many look rather stale to me (e.g, the short position taken out by Sunrise Partners on 9/112012 in Glencore is well in the money now and it’s still showing major short positions in HMV Group from 2012 which went into administration in 2013)
It’s things like this that make one worry about the capability of those people employed by the FCA
